Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle collision with positive injuries at a local business involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. An employee had been struck by a vehicle backing out of a parking space. Emergency Medical Services were dispatched, and a patient was flown off island.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to the Port of Friday Harbor in response to active trespassing. The individual was located and admitted to the trespassing. The individual was issued a criminal citation for Criminal Trespassing in the Second Degree.

A Deputy on San Juan Island served a trespass warning letter to an individual. The individual was trespassed from multiple properties in Friday Harbor. A report was completed.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a non-injury motor vehicle collision. The driver was making a U-turn when the vehicle went into a ditch. A tow truck was called, and the vehicle was removed from the ditch. No visible damage was noted.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of harassment. The information given did not rise to the level of a criminal act and the reporting party was referred to the court to petition for an anti-harassment order.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a trespassing call. A Lopez teen wandered unannounced onto a neighboring property. The teen’s parent had a strict sit-down talk with them following the incident.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of vandalism. It was reported that someone had intentionally put bug killer inside a vehicle. A report was completed, and an investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of active trespassing and possible theft. Upon arrival the Deputy contacted a known individual and they admitted to taking popsicles. The owner stated the individual could keep the items but wanted the individual trespassed.

A Deputy was contacted in reference to a Citizen Dispute. The person reporting had an issue with an employee of a business. Information report taken.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of fraud. The reporting party sent funds to a person over a third-party app who demanded more money to release them. No suspect information is available and there are no likely leads.

A Lopez women was arrested for a local warrant (failure to comply with court order). Charges of resisting arrest and a narcotics possession referral were forwarded to the court.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a single vehicle accident vs a deer. There were no injuries reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

A Lopez Deputy gathered information for a referred Adult Protective Service case.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of a fraud attempt. A person received messages threatening that they needed to “resolve” an issue and sent a picture of people with weapons. The victim did not engage with the person and no loss was incurred.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of a suspicious phone call. The reporting party stated that a caller said their child was injured when they interrupted a drug deal. The caller terminated the call when another person spoke on the line. The child was not involved in anything and was safe.

A San Juan Deputy took a report of computer fraud. The victim was able to contact their bank and advise of the breach. The Deputy advised of further steps to take to protect their assets and how to avoid similar incidents. No loss was incurred and no suspect information is available.

Deputies on Orcas responded to a possible domestic call near Eastsound. One of the parties was flown off due to a precaution for a very high amount of intoxication. The case is ongoing.

Lopez Deputies received an anonymous tip regarding problems a local family is working through. Deputies had already been in frequent contact with the family and had referred them to the appropriate non-law enforcement service providers. It is the family’s responsibility to follow through.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a possible DUI. The driver was located and did not show signs of impairment. A report was completed.
23-004821 Agency Assistance 10:46:28 06/26/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island assisted Adult Protective Services (APS). An APS referral noted concern that an elderly person was being financially exploited. The Deputy contacted the subject of the referral. Based on that contact, the Deputy initiated a fraud investigation.

A Deputy on San Juan Island met with a citizen at the station who had a shotgun to turn over. The citizen no longer wanted the firearm. The Deputy took the shotgun and put it into evidence.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a traffic hazard in Eastsound. The vehicle parked in the roadway was towed when no owner or driver could be found.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a call involving threatening messages. The Deputy determined there is sufficient probable cause to believe a violation of RCW 9A.46.020 – Harassment had been committed.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of threats made to the hospital. The individual admitted to overreacting, was upset, and had no intention on harming the property. A report was completed.
