A Deputy took a request of a welfare check on an elderly person who had been sending money to a possible scam. After contact it looked as though the subject had fallen victim to a scam. The subject advised he would contact us with further information if he did not receive the money promised.
24-003619 Wanted Person 10:32:28 06/19/24
A Friday Harbor man was arrested on an arrest warrant and booked into the San Juan County Jail.
24-003621 Mental Health 10:43:48 06/19/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a third-party report of a person in crisis. The person was contacted and declined offers of immediate assistance. Deputies spoke with the person at length and formed a plan for them to seek assistance on their own.
24-003627 Accident-Injury, Traffic 12:13:07 06/19/24
Lopez Deputies responded to a bicycle versus car collision. The incident is under investigation.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a parking complaint regarding boats at the Outer Island County Dock in Roche Harbor. Three vessels were issued infractions for permit violations.
24-003636 Theft 18:13:43 06/19/24
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a stolen electric bicycle. A juvenile was found to be in possession of the bike and the Deputy’s report was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for several charges.

Lopez Island Deputies & Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched to a report of a Missing Person. The individual was located, and the incident was documented.
24-003656 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:59:48 06/20/24
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an alarm call. The incident was documented.
24-003660 Harassment 16:12:15 06/20/24
I was on duty as a Deputy with the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office. I was in uniform and driving my marked patrol car. I went to Clever Cow, which is located at 109 North Beach Road in Eastsound, WA to pick up a signed trespass warning letter.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an Unwanted Person. The incident was resolved peacefully, and the incident was documented.
24-003663 Welfare Check 17:36:56 06/20/24
A Deputy responded to a welfare check. Upon contact, medical service provider suggestions were made to a person who displayed signs of dementia and to their loved ones.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to an unwanted person call at Country Corner 837 Crescent Beach Rd. A subject who was intoxicated to the point of unconsciousness was treated by Orcas Fire/EMS and flown off island for further treatment.
FRIDAY, JUNE 21
24-003671 Found Property 10:15:37 06/21/24
The Sheriff’s Office received a found cell phone. The owner is unknown and the phone was entered into evidence.
24-003685 Area Check 13:27:53 06/21/24
A Deputy stopped a vehicle known to be associated with a wanted person. A male driver with an expired license, stated the person was not with him. The person was found hiding under items in the back seat. Both were arrested, one for the warrant and one for providing false statements.
24-003686 Domestic Dispute or Assault 14:39:57 06/21/24
Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Orcas Island. It was determined that the male subject displayed signs of being a danger to others, but it appeared to be a mental health concern. The subject was taken to the hospital under the involuntary treatment act without incident.
24-003695 Found Property 21:26:17 06/21/24
A Lopez Island Deputy located Found Property in the 100 Block of Ferry Rd. The incident was documented.
SATURDAY, JUNE 22
24-003700 Accident-NonInj 05:42:03 06/22/24
A Lopez Deputy was dispatched to a vehicle off the roadway. No crime had occurred, and a very generous local good Samaritan towed the car from the ditch, along with assisting the driver with other needs.
24-003712 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 13:37:17 06/22/24
A Lopez residents ring camera recorded an unknown male trespassing on private property. The footage was saved for evidence.
24-003720 Disorderly Conduct 19:01:15 06/22/24
San Juan Deputies responded to an incident of disorderly conduct. Involved parties were removed from a local business. No criminal charges were filed.
SUNDAY, JUNE 23
24-003732 Theft 09:17:39 06/23/24
An Orcas Island woman reported a theft of her belongings from her property. She believes it is an Orcas Island man who was hired to do some work around her property. At the time of the report a list of the missing items are being compiled and an investigation ensues.
24-003735 Theft 11:39:28 06/23/24
A Deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. A local business was reporting a shoplifter. The person was located and admitted to the theft. One juvenile was arrested and referred to Juvenile Services.
24-003737 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 12:56:26 06/23/24
A Lopez resident reported packages were opened and left in their mailbox. No loss occurred. There are no known suspects at this time.
24-003738 Assault – Body Force 13:01:36 06/23/24
A report of an assault was made to the Sheriff’s Office. After investigating the incident, it was determined the report did not rise to the level of criminal assault, but that it should be reported to their HR department for potential employment ramifications.
24-003745 Controlled Substance Problem 15:53:50 06/23/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report suspected found drugs, which turned out to be pieces of burnt aluminum foil. The Deputy took custody of the items and submitted them into evidence for destruction. A report was completed.
24-003747 Disorderly Conduct 17:20:42 06/23/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a Disorderly Conduct complaint. A business owner asked to have a person trespassed. A trespass warning letter was completed and served to the person in question.
24-003750 Domestic Dispute or Assault 19:08:45 06/23/24
Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of a domestic incident. One individual was taken into custody and booked in to the San Juan County Jail for assault in the 4th degree- DV and malicious mischief in the 3rd degree- DV. A report was completed.
MONDAY, JUNE 24
24-003754 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 03:46:33 06/24/24
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a suspicious circumstance call. The complainant was awakened at around 3:30 a.m. by what sounded like rocks striking the windows of his residence. The incident is under investigation.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a reported burglary. The report was discovered to be unfounded.
24-003766 Welfare Check 13:27:27 06/24/24
A Friday Harbor man was found deceased in his residence after a welfare check was called in. There are no signs of foul play and an investigation into the cause of death is underway.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a report of a domestic incident. A report was completed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island received a third-party report of threats. The victim did not wish to speak to the Deputy about the incident. The Deputy authored an informational report.
TUESDAY, JUNE 25
24-003779 Harassment 02:46:21 06/25/24
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of harassment. After an investigation, it was determined it was an aggravated assault. One individual was taken into custody for Assault in the second degree DV, and burglary in the first degree. A report was completed.
24-003783 Found Property 10:27:12 06/25/24
A single diamond type earring was found at the ferry landing and turned into the Sheriff’s Office. The earring was placed in the property and evidence room.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a report of Harassment. The incident was documented.
