A pickup in the ferry lane was struck on the mirror by another truck in the next lane as it was being passed. The mirror was damaged by the passing truck.
25-004346 Civil Problem 12:31:53 07/09/25
Sheriff’s Office civil staff and Deputies contacted a Lopez Individual to assist with an eviction. The individual had been provided ample time and multiple warnings to vacate previously. The individual continued to refuse to leave, and was arrested for Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer.

A San Juan Deputy working Orcas Island responded to a request to have a person trespassed from local businesses. A trespass letter was signed and the person will be issued the letter when located.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a Death Investigation.
THURSDAY, JULY 10
25-004372 Theft 13:54:08 07/10/25
Item was found, no theft – spoke with RP who apologized for wasting our time.
25-004387 Parking Problem 18:46:05 07/10/25
A white 2003 Ford Taurus was towed from Orcas Road and Double Hill Road. The vehicle was tagged as abandoned on 07/10/2025. The vehicle was not removed within 72 hours and was removed by Orcas Towing.
FRIDAY, JULY 11
25-004397 Weapons Noise 02:15:44 07/11/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to weapon noise. The Deputy secured statements and evidence pointing to someone having fired a handgun from a moving vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
25-004406 Property Damage, Non Vandalism 11:20:10 07/11/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to property damage at a local business in the Olga area. The investigating Deputy discovered several crimes were committed. The suspect was identified by other San Juan County Deputies. The suspect was arrested for attempted theft and malicious mischief.

A Lopez resident reported that his construction equipment is being tampered with during the overnight hours.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a two-vehicle collision. A collision report was not necessary, due to the location and amount of damage. The Deputy facilitated an exchange of information.
25-004416 Domestic Dispute or Assault 15:08:39 07/11/25
Lopez Deputies responded to a verbal dispute between a couple. The parties were separated and a courtesy transport was provided.
25-004417 Accident-Injury, Traffic 15:21:20 07/11/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a collision. A driver was issued an infraction for Speed Too Fast for Conditions and Failure to Carry Valid Proof of Insurance.
25-004419 Vehicle Prowl 15:52:31 07/11/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island received a vehicle prowl complaint. The incident appeared to be related to an attempted theft and numerous other reported thefts on the island. One person has been arrested for the attempted theft. Investigations into the possibly associated crimes are ongoing.
25-004422 Trespassing 16:51:02 07/11/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a trespassing call in the Eastsound area. The person was issued a trespass warning letter and left the property without incident. The incident was documented.
25-004423 Theft 16:56:03 07/11/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a theft call at a local farmstand. Several items were documented as stolen, and an investigation is underway.
25-004426 Wanted Person 18:41:25 07/11/25
A San Juan Deputy located an individual with a warrant for their arrest. The individual was arrested and during a search incident to arrest, the Deputy located suspected fentanyl. The individual was booked into jail and the substance will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
SATURDAY, JULY 12
25-004444 Controlled Substance Problem 17:42:33 07/12/25
Dispatch observed what appeared to be an exchange between two inmates. After investigating, it was determined that a controlled substance in crushed pill form was exchanged between inmates. Additional substances were found in an inmate’s sock. Charges were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office.

A cell phone was turned over to a Lopez Deputy. The owner was not located.
25-004463 CPR ALS 12:23:10 07/13/25
A Lopez Deputy and EMS responded to a death.
25-004466 Accident-NonInj 15:07:11 07/13/25
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a minor fender bender in the parking lot of a restaurant in Eastsound. Both drivers conducted an exchange of information. The Deputy authored a report for the insurance company.
25-004473 Malicious Mischief 17:11:40 07/13/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a malicious mischief. Currently there are no suspects.

A Deputy on Orcas Island received a vandalism complaint. A report was authored. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of an animal problem.
25-004503 Found Property 17:48:11 07/14/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of found property. The item was booked into evidence. It is unknown at this time who the owner is.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was assigned a welfare check call-back. The subject of the welfare check is not believed to be in the county. The caller requested their report be documented.
TUESDAY, JULY 15
25-004526 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:23:52 07/15/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a suspicious incident. The caller reported finding an open parcel on his property. The intended recipient was contacted. At the intended recipient’s request, a trespass warning letter was issued.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 16
25-004539 Mental Health 01:48:32 07/16/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island assisted the United States Coast Guard with a possible domestic violence incident in Echo Bay. The caller was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The other occupant fled prior to contact and was charged with assaulting the caller.
