Lopez Island Deputies responded to a burglary in progress on Hummel Lake Road. The individual, a local man, was apprehended on scene, it was confirmed that he did not have permission to be on the property. He was cited for trespassing and driving with a suspended license.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle collision. The rider was flown off-island for medical treatment with serious injuries.
THURSDAY, JULY 4

San Juan Deputies responded to a collision in Friday Harbor. Minor property damage and no apparent injuries occurred. A collision report was completed and Deputies facilitated an information exchange between parties. No intoxication was noted.

A Lopez man was contacted while creating a hazard in his efforts to direct post-parade traffic. He was moved along. A report was sent to the appropriate behavioral health agency.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a report of Weapon Noise. The noise occurred on private property, and no crime was committed. The incident was documented.

Lopez Deputies responded to a domestic call. The conflict did not amount to any criminal law violations. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

Deputies on Orcas responded to a possible domestic near the Rosario area. After an investigation was completed, it was found that it was just a verbal argument between a couple.

A Deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island Area about an Order Violation. The Deputy arrived at the location. The person was gone but there was evidence the person had been there. Incident referred to PA’s Office for charges.

A San Juan Deputy took custody of suspected drugs located by a local business. NO owner information was available. The bag of suspicious white powder was placed into evidence for destruction.

Deputies were dispatched to a Traffic Accident in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and located a vehicle that had run into a parked vehicle. Report taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a found property report. The Deputy was unable to locate the owner. The property was booked into evidence.
24-004181 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:27:38 07/06/24
Deputies from Orcas responded to a single vehicle accident with injury on Shaw Island. The driver, who was the only occupant, was flown off for possible neck injury. A warrant for blood was applied for and granted for possible DUI. The case is ongoing.

Deputies were contacted about an Assault in the Friday Harbor area. The person advised he had been punched by a friend. The person provided a statement. Report taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a notice of infraction for abandoning a vehicle at a local towing establishment.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to the Eastsound Airport to assist Orcas Towing with a plane that went off the runway after the landing gear collapsed. The Deputy authored a report. FAA and NTSB were notified.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a theft from a local business. The juvenile suspect was contacted and a report was sent to the prosecutors office for charging.
TUESDAY, JULY 9
24-004236 Domestic Dispute or Assault 03:53:12 07/09/24
Deputies responded to a report of an assault in the woods. The involved individuals admitted to having a fight; one person hit the other with a small piece of lumber; they then got pushed to the ground. Neither party wish to pursue the matter criminally. A report was completed.
