A Friday Harbor resident reported his Facebook account being hacked by a female subject that has a restraining order against him. This incident occurred during the weekend of 07/15/16 through 07/18/16 in Friday Harbor.
16-005071 Area Check 00:53:12 07/20/16
A deputy found an unoccupied vehicle running on the side of the roadway on Orcas Island. The vehicle was secured and the owner was located the following day. No crime occurred. Settled by contact.
16-005073 Animal at Large 08:23:26 07/20/16
A Lopez Island deputy took custody of a dog running at large along Ferry Rd. The dog was placed in the kennel, and LAPS was notified. Messages were left for the owner that the dog is in custody. A warning letter was sent to the owner.
16-005075 Vehicle Theft 09:19:13 07/20/16
A Deputy was dispatched to a non-injury collision that was later found the vehicle was taken without permission and left in a ditch in Friday Harbor. No suspects or further information at this time.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent with EMS to the Hunter Bay dock on a report of a vessel bringing a person experiencing a medical emergency. The vessel’s captain decided to go to the mainland directly. No further action was necessary.

A Bainbridge Island woman reported losing her engagement ring while bicycling on Lopez Island. A report was taken.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a theft of a package. Currently there are no suspects in the theft.
16-005088 Controlled Substance Problem 17:21:12 07/20/16
A large group of about 8 were advised of open container of alcohol laws and were on private property (with out invitation). No signs of drug use. They were asked to move to public property side of beach. Everyone was cooperative and polite except for one subject.

A Deputy was dispatched to the area of North Beach in regards to a possible DUI. The vehicle was located nearby. A subject was arrested for a warrant. The vehicle was impounded because the subject had a suspended license.

Deputies were dispatched to an Assault in Friday Harbor. Suspect was arrested for Assault 4th Degree and released with a court date.

A subject with a warrant turned herself in at the Orcas Substation. The subject posted bail and was released with a court date.
16-005113 Traffic Stop 12:18:44 07/21/16
A Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor and the driver was issued an infraction for speeding.
16-005118 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 16:02:08 07/21/16
A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound residence in regards to suspicious circumstances of someone entering the home, leaving an item on the floor and leaving without owner permission. No suspects known. A Report was taken.

A vehicle was parked just in front of a “No Parking Any time” sign, with forward arrow in the 8100 blk Orcas Rd. Parking ticket issued.

A Deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident regarding a possible telephone scam involving a person claiming to work for the Census Bureau. The deputy determined the incident was most likely not a scam. The deputy advised the reporting person to not provide personal information over the phone.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a dog at large. The dog did not have any identifying marks and it was unknown who the dog belonged to. The dog was taken to the shelter.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound residence in regards to a high loss credit card fraud and check forgery case by a family member. A report was taken and the case is referred to Detectives.

A Lopez deputy received a report of a vessel moored on a private buoy. Attempts to locate the vessel owner are ongoing.

A deputy responded to a reported burglary at a residence on Orcas Island. Tools had been stolen from a garage. Investigation continues.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a report of wedding rings found in the village. A possible owner was contacted.
16-005154 Boating Safety Inspection 18:46:40 07/22/16
Marine patrol deputies stopped a vessel in Spieden Channel just outside Roche Harbor for carrying passengers in an unsafe manner. Warned for that violation as well as expired vessel registration. Vessel inspection completed.

Park staff at Odlin Park called a Lopez deputy to collect a pit bull that was running at large in the park. The owner was identified, and a warning letter issued when the dog was claimed.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Hit and Run collision in Friday Harbor. The owner of the vehicle arranged to pay for the damages. No Citations were issued, Settled by Contact.

A Deputy stopped a motorist on 07/23/16 for speeding in the 1700 block of Mud Bay Road and issued her a ticket.

A deputy responded to a report of trespass and theft that occurred at an Orcas Island residence. Upon further investigation it was determined that a portable generator had been stolen from a tool shed. Investigation continues.

A Deputy stopped a motorist on 07/23/16 in the 100 block of Vista Road, Lopez Island and issued him a ticket after he saw him driving while not wearing his seatbelt.

Lopez Island deputies responded to a brief open 911 call. The source of the call, from a cell phone could not be located after several area residents were contacted. No problem was discovered.

Lopez Island EMS personnel returned from an emergency call to find a vehicle parked blocking the bay doors of the main fire station. A deputy was called, who found the owner of the car at the Library. The car was moved by the owner, who was very apologetic.

A Deputy issued a motorist a ticket on 07/23/16 after he saw him riding a motorcycle while not wearing a helmet in the 300 block of Port Stanley Road. Lopez Island.

Two parking citations were issued at the Obstruction Pass boat ramp.

A Lopez Island deputy cited two vehicles left unattended in the ferry line while the 1045 sailing was trying to load. When the drivers arrived at their vehicles, they were sent to the end of the line.
16-005219 Animal Bite 13:39:27 07/24/16
A child was bitten in the hand by a dog tied up in front of the Island Market in Eastsound. The female owner left immediately with the dog and did not identify herself. Anyone with information please call the Sheriff’s Office, so we can confirm the Australian Shepherd has a current rabies shot.

A SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to a reported theft at the Turtleback Trailhead parking area in Eastsound. Person(s) unknown smashed the window of a vehicle and took the victims purse from the vehicle. The case is under further investigation.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a report of vandalism. The reporting party identified a possible suspect, but did not want charges pursued.

In Friday Harbor a subject was briefly going to his boat and left his wallet on the dash of his unlocked car. When he returned it was gone. He has no suspects at this time. There was no cash or ID in the wallet and the credit cards have been cancelled.
16-005239 Traffic Violation 14:08:03 07/25/16
A Lopez Island deputy investigated a traffic complaint from some bicyclists who reported a driver they believed traveling at an unsafe speed. The vehicle had left the area before the deputy arrived.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for an unwanted person at a residence. The subject had left, but was located at the ferry landing. The subject was warned not to return and left on the ferry.
16-005254 Animal Noise 23:15:01 07/25/16
A SJC Sheriff Deputy responded to a noise complaint of a dog continuously barking from a residence. It was later discovered that the persons who owned the dog had a medical emergency and they had a person checking on the dog but not staying at the house. No infraction was issued.

A Lopez Island deputy contacted a group of boaters at the Mackaye Harbor Boat Ramp. Three vessel safety inspections were conducted.
16-005287 Traffic Stop 21:31:28 07/26/16
A Deputy issued a ticket to a motorist on 07/26/16 after he failed to dim his high beams as he was driving toward the Deputy in the 500 block of Port Stanley Road, Lopez Island.
16-005289 Rape/Attempted Rape 22:19:34 07/26/16
A deputy responded to Spring Street reference an agency assist. Upon arrival I was advised of a possible sexual assault which had been disclosed to the reporting party earlier in the day. Investigation continues.
