A Deputy on Lopez received a report of a damaged mailbox. A local construction company contacted the reportee and agreed to pay for damage.

A Deputy on Lopez was dispatched to a possible explosive device on the beach. The device proved to be an expended plastic smoke bomb.

Deputies investigated a possible residential burglary on Orcas Island. A report was filed.
20-005696 Trespassing 11:25:35 07/16/20
A Lopez resident reported vandalism and trespassing on a private beach access point. This long running issue is under investigation.
20-005702 Theft 14:02:31 07/16/20
Deputies investigated a theft in Eastsound. A report was taken.
20-005712 Illegal Fireworks 18:55:59 07/16/20
Deputies responded to two neighboring addresses on Orcas Island on reports of fireworks being fired off. Deputies witnessed the fireworks being set off. Both responsible parties were issued infractions.

An Orcas Deputy conducted a welfare check on reported suicidal woman. The woman was later located. A report was written.

A reporting Deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Fraud. The person was reporting a “phishing scam”. Report taken.

Deputies investigated a possible harassment incident in Eastsound. The suspect was arrested for a court order violation.
20-005759 Accident-HitRun 18:47:06 07/17/20
A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of a hit and run. The suspect was located and arrested for DUI, hit and run attended vehicle, reckless endangerment and minor in possession or consuming alcohol.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a collision. There was extensive damage to property, but no injuries. A report was taken.

Deputies responded to a possible harassment incident in Eastsound. An informational report was filed.

Deputies investigated a traffic collision without injury on Orcas Island. A report was taken.
20-005783 Rescue Response 12:17:05 07/18/20
A boating mishap put two men into the water off Lopez Island prompting a rescue response from Sheriff, Lopez Fire and EMS, US Coast Guard and a nearby boater. Both men were wearing lifejackets, and were successfully rescued uninjured. Their capsized boat was righted and was undamaged.

A Lopez Island Deputy took a theft report from a boater that someone had stolen crab pots while they had been set in Hunter Bay.

A Deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Officer in reference to Lost Property. The person turned in an item located in one of the parks. Report taken.
20-005810 Area Check 23:11:38 07/18/20
An Orcas Island Deputy conducted an area check at the West Sound County Dock. At about 2315 hours there was a vessel located at the dock which had been issued numerous infractions for unlawful overnight moorage before. The Deputy issued the vessel an infraction.

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of a domestic violence incident on an outer island. A subject was arrested for assault 4th degree DV and assault 4th degree.
20-005818 Parking Problem 10:09:17 07/19/20
Deputies investigated a parking problem in Eastsound. The responsible party was contacted and given 24 hours to move the vehicle.
20-005827 Animal Bite 13:30:02 07/19/20
A Lopez Island Deputy was called regarding a child bitten by a dog. A report was completed and submitted to the county health department.
20-005845 Accident-Injury, Traffic 21:37:59 07/19/20
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and/or drugs and resisting arrest.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Traffic Accident in the Friday Harbor area. The accident involved two vehicle with no injuries to the drivers. Report taken.

A caller contacted the reporting Deputy in reference to a Fraud.
20-005868 Citizen Dispute 17:24:25 07/20/20
A San Juan Deputy was dispatched to a report of a citizen dispute. The Deputy spoke with both parties and they agreed to separate. The Deputy discovered one of the parties violated their conditions of
release and this was forwarded to the probation officer.
