A Deputy in Friday Harbor received some prescription medications from a citizen that had been left by another person. The Deputy took the medication and booked it into evidence.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a motor vehicle collision in the downtown Eastsound area. The Deputy learned it was a minor fender bender and both drivers conducted an exchange of information. The incident was documented.

San Juan Island Deputies responded to a report of sex offense. An investigation was initiated and is ongoing.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 8

A Deputy on Orcas Island issued a notice of infraction for littering abandoned vehicle.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 9
26-000170 Weapon Safekeeping 11:47:35 01/09/26
An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a safekeeping incident near downtown Eastsound. The citizen wanted the Sheriff’s Office to secure a firearm for safekeeping. The firearm was placed into the Sheriff’s Office property room until further notice.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 10

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an agency assist pertaining to a previous investigation. Evidence was collected and the incident was documented.

26-000188 Malicious Mischief 10:57:54 01/10/26
A Lopez driver, likely under the influence, drove into a group of mailboxes on Port Stanley Road.

26-000200 Illegal Fireworks 22:49:19 01/10/26
A Lopez resident reported fireworks near Aleck Bay Road. A local juvenile who lives nearby is likely involved.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 11
26-000201 Domestic Dispute or Assault 02:23:55 01/11/26
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic dispute. One of the involved was arrested for harassment, domestic violence.

An Orcas Island Deputy responded to a citizen assist call; resources were provided.

26-000208 Domestic Dispute or Assault 11:08:31 01/11/26
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic. The reporting party was arrested for multiple out of county warrants and a local charge of malicious mischief 3rd degree – DV.

Deputies on Orcas Island contacted individuals with an active warrant for their arrest. The individuals were arrested and transported to jail without incident.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of possible theft. A report was completed.

MONDAY, JANUARY 12

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a single vehicle accident in the town of Friday Harbor. A driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed in to a building. The driver was taken into custody for DUI, DWLS 2, and Reckless Driving. A report was completed.

26-000225 Agency Assistance 11:13:45 01/12/26
A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to an Agency Assist. The incident was documented.

26-000238 Accident-Injury, Traffic 18:23:31 01/12/26
Lopez Island Deputies and Lopez Island Fire & EMS were dispatched to an Accident-Injury. A passenger was airlifted for further care and the driver of one of the vehicles was arrested for DUI and transported to the county holding facility.
