Complainant delivered a cellular phone to Dispatch. He indicated he had found the phone in the parking lot of the San Juan Island Library.

Complainants brought a wallet to the Sheriff’s Office. They stated that it had been found outside the County Victim Services Office, across the street from the
courthouse.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded for a found bone report. The origin of the bones is not yet known. The investigation continues.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to pick up a dog at large that had been penned up on a resident’s property. The caller reports the dog is a frequent visitor, and the owner is not working to correct the dog’s behavior. The dog was taken to the kennel and LAPS was notified.

Lopez Island deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance. The investigation revealed the dispute was verbal only and no crime had occurred. The parties agreed to separate for the evening. A report was taken.

Lopez Island Deputies responded to a residence off of Islandale Road for a 911 hang up. The investigation revealed that a domestic violence incident had occurred and Deputies made an arrest. The arrested person was transported to jail in Friday Harbor to await a hearing with a judge.

An Orcas deputy responded to a burglary that took place at the public high school. The investigation continues.
17-000468 Animal at Large 20:37:23 01/26/17
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to an animals at large call. The deputy arrived to find two good samaritans that had located the animals. They fixed the paddocks fence and returned the animals to their pasture without incident.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a residence on School Road for a vandalism
and harassment complaint on 01/27/17. The reporting person stated a person, she
knows, broke a window on her home. She identified the suspect. An investigation
is being conducted.
17-000475 Welfare Check 11:10:57 01/27/17
SJC Sheriff Deputies were requested to check on the welfare of an armed male subject that was experiencing a psychological emergency. Deputies performed high risk stop procedures after locating the vehicle. After a lengthy standoff, he was taken into protective custody without anyone getting injured.

A Deputy was dispatched to a vehicle prowl in Friday Harbor. The Deputy learned someone had taken money out of a parked vehicle. No known suspects at this time.

A Deputy called a Waldron Island resident about three water fowl hunters on a vessel shooting toward homes. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island woman reported receiving a suspicious letter reportedly from an overseas bank. The letter suggests she may be an heir to a fortune from a distant relative. On its face, the letter appears to be fraudulent. A report was taken.
17-000502 Theft 16:03:10 01/28/17
Five boys were seen stealing alcohol from the back of the Roche Harbor Store. They fled in a green Gator, followed by store employees. Deputies arrived and located the boys, who were taken into custody. They were released to parents with pending charges and trespass letters from Roche Harbor Resort.

A SJC Deputy took a report of a vehicle Prowl on Orcas Island. The reporting party reported his phone and a shirt were taken from his vehicle. He later discovered his phone on the front porch of his home. The shirt is still missing. The case is under further investigation.

A Lopez Island man reported that a gate across a utility easement had been vandalized during the night. A report was taken.
17-000524 Animal at Large 16:10:19 01/29/17
A Deputy responded to a call of two dogs chasing a pedestrian in the area of Mitchell Bay Rd. Deputy located 2 dogs running loose on their property and attempted to contact the residents with negative results. Both of the dogs had
an aggressive demeanor. Deputy will be making contact with the dog owner.

A Lopez Island deputy responded to a traffic hazard on Ferry Rd where a significant quantity of broken glass was in and along the roadway. The source of the glass is unknown. Public Works was notified.
17-000538 Litter/Pollution/Public Health 16:23:07 01/30/17
A Friday Harbor resident came to the Office for illegal dumping in her driveway. She left her home this morning at 0800. When she returned at 1600 there was a pile of yard debris in the driveway, about the size of small truck bed. There was no physical evidence and no suspects at this time.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a suspicious circumstance involving a possible prowler. No one was found on the premises.
17-000549 Domestic Dispute or Assault 08:08:24 01/31/17
Lopez Island Deputies responded to a residence on Port Stanley Road for a domestic violence complaint. It was determined no physical assault occurred. The reporting person requested the other involved person be criminal trespassed from her property. A report was completed.
