A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a found bones report on 01/20/16. The origin of the bones is not yet known. The investigation continues.
16-000314 Court Order Violation 17:33:40 01/20/16
On 1-20-16 at 1733 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an order violation. The investigation showed that a violation did not take place and this report is for information only.

16-000320 Accident-NonInj 11:05:19 01/21/16
On 01-21-2016, I responded to a non-injury two vehicle collision in a private parking lot on Spring Street. I assisted both drivers by doing an exchange of information printout through SECTOR. No Police Traffic Collision Report done.

On 01/22/15, a deputy took a report of theft from a boat that occurred at an Orcas Island marina. No known suspects at this time.
16-000335 Traffic Violation 12:34:06 01/22/16
Called reporting party back on 01/22/16 at approximately 1330 hours and left message on her cell phone voice mail to call me back. Possible suspect vehicle.
16-000336 Non-sufficient Funds Check 13:27:55 01/22/16
On January 22, 2016, a Lopez deputy was dispatched to a report of a non-sufficient fund (NSF) check at a local business. The check writer was contacted and agreed to pay to balance.

16-000347 Parking Problem 07:11:43 01/23/16
On the morning of 01-23-2016, I responded to Marguerite Place reference a complaint of a vehicle parked on the side walk. It was reported that this was a daily occurrence. I issued a parking violation for parking on the side walk.
16-000350 Domestic Dispute or Assault 11:42:02 01/23/16
On 01/23/16 the reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Domestic. All parties were contacted and interviewed. The incident was found to be verbal only. Parties agreed to separate.

16-000366 Theft 14:32:27 01/24/16
On 1/24/16 the reporting deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Theft that occurred in Friday Harbor area. The victim advised several items were removed from an unlocked storage unit. Investigation continues.
16-000371 Weapons Offense 16:49:16 01/24/16
A Lopez Island resident reported gunshots in the area of their residence. A nearby neighbor was target shooting when contacted by a deputy. No law violation had occurred, no enforcement action was taken.
16-000374 Traffic Stop 18:14:10 01/24/16
Citation issued for Passing in a No Passing Zone. Notice of Infraction and narrative attached in files.
16-000376 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 20:00:48 01/24/16
A Lopez Island man reported a possible theft. The suspect was identified and contacted by a deputy. There is no evidence of a theft having occurred.

16-000377 Fraud 09:19:53 01/25/16
On 1/25/16 the reporting deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Fraud which occurred in the San Juan Island area. The victim received an e-mail from a friend asking for money for a health issue. The victim was going to send the money when she found out the friend was ok.

On January 21, 2016, an Orcas Island resident contacted the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office to report what they believed as suspicious activity by a resident of Lopez Island.

16-000387 Vehicle on Fire 06:42:22 01/26/16
A Lopez Deputy responded for a fire investigation at 0700 on 01/26/16. The fire involved two vehicles, one of which was a motor home. No one was hurt. The preliminary investigation revealed no evidence of a crime and appeared to have been started from an electrical heater.
16-000388 Fraud 09:20:33 01/26/16
On 1/26/16 the reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Fraud. The victim reported that he sent a bill electronically to a client. The client contacted the victim and asked about the e-mail changing the account for the money to be sent to.
16-000390 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:29:03 01/26/16
On 1/26/16 the reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Domestic. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. After interviewing the parties, one person was arrested for Assault 4th DV. The person was booked into custody.
16-000399 Traffic Stop 18:41:02 01/26/16
On 01/26/16 SJC Deputies in Eastsound performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that accelerated out of a parking area in a negligent manner. The driver was unable to provide proof of insurance. The driver was cited for negligent driving and no current proof of liability insurance.
Would really appreciate if ALL of the items in the Sheriff’s report clearly ID’d on which island the incident occurred. The report is often uneven in this regard.
