Deputies arrived at an apartment in Friday Harbor to investigate a disturbance. Deputies arrested a male subject that threatened to kill a neighbor with a knife.

An Orcas deputy responded to welfare check of a child. It was later determined the child was fine.
17-000350 Accident-HitRun 11:48:14 01/19/17
A Deputy spoke with a Lopez Island resident regarding a hit and run complaint. It was determined a motorist damaged the fence surrounding Center Church. The person responsible for the damage was identified and he agreed to pay for the repair cost. A report was completed.
17-000351 Burglary – Residential 11:50:42 01/19/17
Orcas deputies responded to an Olga address regarding possible residential burglary. After further investigation it was determined the subjects in the residence were allowed to live there by another guest in the home. The subjects were ordered to leave and trespassed from the residence.

Friday Harbor deputies assisted in retrieving a firearm pursuant to a protection order. The rifle was recovered and placed into safekeeping.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Unwanted Person in Friday Harbor. After the arrival of the Deputy, the unwanted person left without incident. No further.

A Lopez deputy was dispatched to investigate circumstances surrounding the fall of an elderly Lopez resident, which resulted in fatal injuries.

Deputies were dispatched to a Domestic Disturbance in Friday Harbor. Parties separated for the evening. No further.
17-000376 Wanted Person 16:16:12 01/20/17
SJC Deputies located a Wanted Person inside Island Market in Eastsound. The subject was arrested, transported and booked into jail in Friday Harbor without further incident.
17-000380 Accident-Injury, Traffic 22:26:51 01/20/17
Deputies and EMS responded to a report of a traffic accident on San Juan Island. Deputies found a single vehicle had driven through a cattle gate. The driver was cited for negligent driving, No Valid Operators License and No Insurance.

A Lopez Island deputy was called regarding an injured fawn in the village. The fawn was dead when the deputy arrived. Public works was notified to remove the carcass.
17-000386 Accident-NonInj 11:51:34 01/21/17
A deputy was dispatched to a Single Vehicle Accident in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy arrived and discovered a single vehicle had struck a building. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for No Driver’s License and Having No Insurance.

A SJC Deputy responded to a Trespassing complaint in Eastsound. It was discovered that a person had cut a lock on a gate and took items from a property. The case is under further investigation.

A SJC Deputy made contact with an adult male and juvenile female in Eastsound. It was discovered that the females parents did not know she was with the male. The persons were identified and the female was picked up by a responsible party.

A wallet was turned in to dispatch. It was found across the street from 96 Second St.

A Lopez deputy responded to a reported dog-at-large. The dog was returned to the registered owner and the owner was cited.
17-000394 Unconscious 16:42:58 01/21/17
A Friday Harbor deputy was dispatched to an unconscious male. Aid was on scene attempting CPR without success. In examining the scene it appears the male fell down the stairs and struck his head. Cause of death is still unknown. Body was transported to Evans Funeral Home for autopsy.

A Lopez Island deputy was sent to check on an elderly couple after friends on the mainland were unable to reach them. The couple was at home and everything was fine. The issue was with their phone, and that was corrected.
17-000406 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 21:50:26 01/22/17
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to investigate suspicious circumstances at a residence after the homeowner observed unusual events on a web cam monitoring the home. The responding deputy found the house and grounds secure. No further action is necessary.

A Lopez Island deputy checked a resident’s home after concerns were raised regarding intruders. The property was found intact. No further action is necessary.
17-000412 Theft 12:08:47 01/23/17
A Lopez Island deputy was called to investigate the apparent theft of a parcel that had been delivered to a residence, but never received by the recipient. A report was taken.
17-000418 Fraud 15:55:55 01/23/17
A SJC Deputy took a report of a check fraud in Eastsound. The victim claimed that a $600 dollar check had been written and cashed without his authorization. There is a known suspect at this time. The case is under further investigation.

The reporting deputy was dispatched to an Animal problem in the San Juan Island area. The caller was complaining about a dog on a work site being aggressive. All the involved parties were contacted and an agreement was reached. No other action at this time.
