A traffic stop on San Juan Island was made on a car with 4 juveniles. 2 of the juveniles in the back seats were hanging out the windows of the car and the car started to slide sideways on the road. The driver was given an infraction for Negligent Driving 2nd.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a report of a giant ice ball blocking traffic. The Deputy discovered that the caller was referring to a recently moved hay bale, which was wrapped in white plastic. The road was unobstructed.

A Deputy took a report of a vehicle off the roadway on Orcas Road. It was discovered that the vehicle went off the roadway in the snowy conditions and damaged a fence. Information from the parties was gathered and shared with the property owner.

A Deputy on Orcas Island observed a vehicle pulling two kayaks on the hard packed snow and iced public roadway near Eastsound. It was evident the kayaks were being flung into the oncoming lane of travel, in the dark hours. The driver was cited for reckless endangerment.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a mental health call. The Deputy spoke with the subject, and information was relayed to a designated crisis responder.

A Lopez Deputy responded when an individual missed their early morning plumbing appointment. The plumber was concerned that a medical emergency may have occurred. Upon investigation, the individual was found to have slept in and forgotten about their appointment.

Eight San Juan County Deputies and Lopez Fire & EMS responded to an individual experiencing a mental health crisis on Lopez Island. The individual was known to possess firearms and had made death threats to his neighbors. He was safely taken into custody and transported to jail.

A Deputy was called to conduct a welfare check on an individual who, according to a family member, sounded unlike himself. Upon the check, the individual was found to need immediate medical attention. Aid was dispatched and the subject was flown to the hospital for treatment.

Lopez Island Deputies were dispatched to a residence for a trespassing call. An individual was located, and through the investigation it was determined to be a misunderstanding and the individual was asked to leave. The incident was documented.

A Deputy received a call regarding checking the welfare of children in a home that the reporting party believed were left alone. A check was conducted and everything was found to be ok.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a citizen assist regarding a custody dispute. The incident was documented.

A citizen called in to report a concern of a possible stolen bicycle on Orcas Island. It is unconfirmed if the bicycle was stolen or just moved from the spot the reporting party had it. He was advised to call in after he knew if the bicycle was stolen or lost.

A Deputy took a report of a suspicious circumstance due to an intoxicated person near Eastsound. The person was contacted and information was gathered. No information suggested a criminal occurrence, however a probation violation was discovered.

Lopez Island Fire & EMS & a Lopez Island Deputy were dispatched to an Unconscious Unresponsive call turned into a death investigation. The scene was investigated, and the death appeared to be of natural causes. Evan’s Funeral Home was contacted, and the incident was documented.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to an animal bite near the ferry landing. After an investigation was completed, a report was written. The attacking dog was put down by the owner. There are no known injures to the other dog.

Deputies responded to a trouble unknown in the area of Roche Harbor Road and Halvorson Road. An investigation into a landlord tenant issue is being conducted as well as a possible assault.

Deputies on San Juan Island responded to a domestic incident. A protection order that had been granted by a judge earlier in the day was also served during the incident. A report was completed.
