23-000859 Fraud 11:39:46 02/08/23
San Juan Deputy took a report of fraud. A victim received an email advising they had been charged by McAfee Virus Software and contained a link to dispute the charge. The link allowed the suspect to access to the victim’s computer. No loss was incurred as the victim terminated the transaction quickly.
23-000863 Court Order Violation 16:29:04 02/08/23
An off-duty San Juan Deputy observed an order violation between two people. The Deputy forwarded a probable cause statement to the Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision.
23-000864 Welfare Check 17:52:38 02/08/23
Deputies responded to a report of an individual staggering in and out of traffic during the dark night hours. The subject was contacted and found to be intoxicated. The subject had prior release conditions not to consume alcohol. A report was made to the prosecutors office on the violation.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Juvenile Problem in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy was responding to an out-of-control student at one of the schools. The Deputy arrived and contacted all the people involved. No crime was committed. Report taken.
23-000889 Agency Assistance 13:54:24 02/09/23
Child Protective Services contacted Deputies regarding an incident with a juvenile. The matter was handled by school staff and the parent. An informational report was completed.
23-000896 Communications Problem 18:57:47 02/09/23
A Lopez Deputy responded when an online stranger attempted to blackmail a Lopezian juvenile. The stranger was blocked, the parents were notified, and a report drafted.
23-000897 Mental Health 19:15:01 02/09/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a mental health related incident. Deputies spoke with an individual and offered resources, which were declined. The incident was documented.
23-000900 DUI 23:59:15 02/09/23
A San Juan Deputy responded to a reported drunk driver in the ferry landing. The individual resisted arrest for physical control and was ultimately tased and arrested for physical control, resisting arrest, obstructing a law enforcement officer and assault 3rd degree.
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 10
23-000904 Agency Assistance 10:46:49 02/10/23
San Juan Deputies responded to a local address to assist Code Enforcement. While on the premises, Deputies located drug paraphernalia in plain view. These items were seized and Deputies suggested the involved parties seek assistance from Compass Health per current Washington State drug laws.

Lopez Deputies investigated a burglary at a residence that also included a stolen vehicle. A probable suspect has been identified.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 11
23-000926 Mental Health 07:05:36 02/11/23
A Deputy was dispatched to a Mental Health Issue in the Friday Harbor area. Dispatch advised a person was in crisis. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. The person in crisis declined
assistance. Information report taken.
23-000930 Attempted Suicide 10:46:15 02/11/23
Lopez EMS requested a dual response for a sick person. No further assistance was needed.
23-000933 Vicious Animal 13:58:26 02/11/23
A Lopez Deputy responded when two off dogs escaped onto Port Stanley Road. The two dogs were set free when a tree fell and damaged the fence containing them. They were quickly recovered by their owner.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report that a gun had been found on the street. The Deputy took custody of a rusty unloaded firearm and placed it into evidence. The gun did not return as stolen and no owner information was located.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a callback about a possible custodial interference call. After all information was gathered it was found to be a civil matter only.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a walk in report of threats. The report is ongoing.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an assault. The investigation is ongoing.

A Lopez resident reported seeing a vehicle listed in a recent sheriff’s office bulletin parked in their driveway recently. The vehicle did not have a reason to be parked in that location. A photo was provided.

A Debit card was found on Spring Street in front of the Sweet Retreat.

4 teenage girls were caught on video shoplifting from the Sandpebble in Friday Harbor. An investigation and an attempt to ID the girls ongoing.

A report of spray paint vandalism was taken at the fairgrounds. The skate park along with the old foundations where the chicken and rabbit tents go was spray painted with graffiti.

A small caliber handgun was turned into the Sheriff’s Office for safekeeping.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was dispatched to a report of a residential burglary. After an investigation it was appeared that there was a mechanical malfunction and no crime had been committed.

Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to an unwanted person in a grocery store. The person was issued a trespass warning letter and advised not to return.

Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to an assault. One person was arrested for Assault 4th degree DV and booked into the jail

Deputies on San Juan Island were dispatched to the Friday Harbor Airport for a report of disorderly conduct. One person was trespassed from the property and advised not to return.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of found property at the Airport. The Deputy made attempts to locate the owner without success. The found property was booked into evidence.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a trespass. The Deputy is still trying to locate the person to give them a trespass warning from the property.
23-001027 Accident-Injury, Traffic 23:29:03 02/14/23
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a vehicle collision. The driver was uninjured. Arrangements were made to have the vehicle towed.
