A Deputy responded to a welfare check in Friday Harbor. The involved person was located in their apartment and found to be deceased. Upon investigation it appeared the person died of natural causes. Report completed and sent to the Coroner’s Office. Report made.
21-000947 Fraud 11:11:20 02/03/21
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud. The caller had very little information to give and there are no suspects or workable leads at this time. Report made.

Deputies on Orcas responded to a possible domestic near Orcas Road. After an investigation was completed one of the individuals was transported to Friday Harbor for a mental health assessment.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a citizen assist. The incident was documented.

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a couple of loose dogs that killed some domestic livestock. The incident was handled civilly between owners.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a civil call. A report was taken.
21-000977 Court Order Violation 11:33:21 02/04/21
A Deputy on Orcas responded to an order violation in Eastsound. The suspect was arrested and transported to Friday Harbor.

An Orcas Deputy reported on a theft from an outbuilding/shed sometime during the month of January. There were no leads on the possible suspect. A theft report was filed.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a vandalism call. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

Deputies responded to a reported theft-in-progress of firewood from private property. Deputies located the suspects and forwarded the case to the prosecutor’s office for charging.

21-001016 Accident-Injury, Traffic 12:49:31 02/05/21
Deputies on San Juan responded to a report of an injury accident. Upon arrival it was determined a dump truck with the box up hit and tore out cable lines. No injuries were found.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to an accident without injury call. The collision occurred on private road. A report was written.

A community member reported she was the victim of an assault by a known suspect in July, 2020. The reporting party did not want the complaint to be prosecuted, and wished to file an informational report only.

An Orcas Deputy investigated a report of a noise/explosion on Enchanted Forest Road. An informational report was filed.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an unconscious person. The subject was found to be deceased and the death does not appear to be suspicious.

A 17-year old attempted suicide. They were transported to the hospital in stable condition for mental health assessment.

An Orcas Deputy located a vehicle with Washington registration tabs affixed to a California license plate. The improper tab was confiscated and a report was written.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of multiple animal bites. The incident is still under investigation.

San Juan Deputies were advised of a complaint of a loose dog. The dog and owner were contacted and issued a warning for a dog-at-large violation.

A Deputy received a call from a Lopez Island resident on regarding concern for another resident who posted to a Lopez Island community webpage. The reporting person stated they were concerned the person might be in emotional distress based on the post. A report was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a callback for an incident that occurred earlier that day. A report was taken.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to a trouble unknown in the Eastsound area. The investigation is ongoing.
21-001106 Domestic Dispute or Assault 20:40:05 02/07/21
San Juan Deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic incident in Friday Harbor. After investigation, no crime appeared to have occurred and parties separated for the night.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a vehicle accident on Orcas Road. The driver fled the scene before law enforcement’s arrival. The vehicle was impounded.
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 8
21-001123 Fraud 14:37:19 02/08/21
A Deputy on Orcas Island received a fraud complaint. An elderly couple reported having received a call from someone they thought was their grandson. He was reported to be in jail and in need of bail money. They send two large cash payments to the “jailers” before figuring out they were being defrauded.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of threats in Friday Harbor. The reporting party wanted the incident documented and did not wish to pursue the incident further.
