Deputies responded to a violation of court ordered conditions of release regarding a GPS monitor. The individual was located, placed under arrest for the violation, transported to the station, & booked into jail without incident awaiting a hearing. Report made.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a hit and run accident in Eastsound. A report was filed.

A citizen came into the San Juan Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. No suspects at this time. Report taken.

A San Juan Deputy arrested a subject for an Active Warrant. They were transported to the Sheriff’s Office to await their arraignment.

A Deputy located a gray 1999 Chevrolet Silverado pickup located in the driveway of San Juan Storage at 3461 Beaverton Valley Rd in Friday Harbor. I recognized this vehicle from two recent contacts.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to an unconscious person in Eastsound. A report was filed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a package theft complaint. The package was later located in a vehicle at the residence. The case was closed as unfounded.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a dog running at large complaint. The dog had no rabies or San Juan County tags and was taken to the Eastsound Animal Shelter.

A Lopez Island resident called a Deputy with questions about the service of civil papers. The caller was referred to the Sheriff’s civil unit.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Single Vehicle Traffic Accident in the San Juan Island area. The reporting Deputy arrived and discovered a single vehicle off the roadway. Driver contacted and found not to be impaired. Report taken.

San Juan Deputies responded to PIMC to assist with an unruly person. While there, an incident of possible child abuse was reported. The incident was forwarded to CPS and is still under investigation.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a suspicious person complaint at a Lopez Island community building. The person was identified and it was determined he had an out of county warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and he was subsequently released after he posted bail.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a call of several sheep in the road. With the help of a neighbor, the Deputy was able to herd the sheep back into their pasture through the break in the fence where they escaped and create a makeshift repair to deter further walkabouts.
20-001576 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:30:19 03/01/20
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic incident. The incident was determined to be a verbal only argument between domestic partners. The involved parties made plans to separate for the remainder of the day.

A Deputy responded to an animal noise call on San Juan Island. The Deputy met with both parties, gave a verbal warning to the dog owner regarding the SJC noise ordinance & the leash law, and completed an informational report. No further investigation at this time.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched to a burglary in Eastsound. A Criminal Trespass report was filed.

A motorist picked up a dog running at large and brought it to the Lopez Substation. The Deputy contacted the dog’s owner who came and picked the dog up from the kennel.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a welfare check in Friday Harbor. The Deputies took a subject into protective custody and transported them to the hospital for evaluation.

A Lopez Island Deputy was sent to investigate a 911 open line call at a Lopez Village business. The premises were checked, and no problem was found.

A Lopez Island Deputy was sent to check on a deer along the road that appeared to have been shot. Upon examination, the deer was obviously dead but the wound did not appear to be from a gunshot. Public Works was notified to remove the deer carcass.
