Deputy received a report of a burglary to a shop in Friday Harbor. Currently there are no suspects.

I was dispatched to an Eastsound residence in regards to a civil matter over property. Shortly after my contact, a known male assaulted the Reporting Person. A report was taken.

16-000852 Welfare Check 13:36:17 02/17/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a welfare check on a young child. The child was unable to be located.

16-000853 Traffic Stop 14:23:55 02/17/16
A Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding 38 MPH in the posted 25 MPH Zone in the 1700 block of Fisherman Bay Road. Infraction for speeding was issued to the driver.

16-000856 Burglary,NonRes 14:34:23 02/17/16
A subject removed a wi-fi receiver from the stair well of the Friday Harbor Suites in Friday Harbor, WA. The subject caused damage to the wiring on 2 locations in the building and managed to remove one wi-fi receiver. Ongoing investigation.

A Lopez deputy took a report of an attempted internet fraud. A spam email locked the computer and offered to sell a solution. Complainant contactecd the phone company, which fixed the problem.

16-000871 Welfare Check 17:27:16 02/18/16
Detective responded to a Friday Harbor residence regarding a welfare check and possible domestic. Upon arrival all parties advised the conflict was verbal only and the parties had separated for the evening. The children were also observed and they were fine. No LE action necessary.

16-000872 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 17:46:10 02/18/16
A Lopez island Deputy responded to a suspicious circumstance complaint in the 4400 block of Center Road on 02/18/16. The reporting person reported finding shell casings on the ground. It was determined that there was no evidence of a crime and no enforcement action was required.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor contacted and arrested a wanted person on Blair Ave.

16-000882 Weapon Safekeeping 10:17:43 02/19/16
A San Juan County resident was ordered by the Court to surrender his firearms to the Sheriff’s Office in Friday Harbor. The suspect turned in one weapon, a 12 ga shotgun.

16-000883 Malicious Mischief 10:18:42 02/19/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a report of vandalism at a church. Evidence was gathered, but no suspects were identified.

16-000891 Assault – Body Force 20:53:35 02/19/16
Sheriff Deputies responded to a Deer Harbor address for a report of an assault. Further investigation consisted of different stories with no physical evidence of an assault. No arrests were made.

16-000892 Welfare Check 22:37:30 02/19/16
Deputies responded to the 2700 block of Beaverton Valley to investigate a trouble unknown call. Deputies arrived and found this to be a domestic dispute.

Deputies responded to a report of loud arguing on 02/20/16 in the area of Cross Road, Lopez Island, WA. Deputies determined the argument, which involved family members, was verbal only. The subjects agreed to seek family counseling and were separated for the evening. No further action was required.

Property “Nook” brand tablet was returned to its owner who is working a construction site in Eastsound.

16-000900 Assault – Aggravated 14:02:26 02/20/16
Reporting deputy was dispatched to a Dispute in the San Juan area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. One of the involved was arrested for DUI after an investigation of the incident.

16-000901 Malicious Mischief 16:01:53 02/20/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched to a reported vandalism complaint. Holes in a deer fence were documented and repaired. No suspect information.

A Deputy in Eastsound noticed a white male in a local business area during closing hours. The deputy detained the suspect and identified him. The suspect had warrants for arrest. During a search incident to arrest the deputy found illegal narcotics on the suspect.

16-000924 Accident-NonInj 17:04:47 02/21/16
Deputies were dispatched to a single car accident at Roche Harbor Rd and Halvorsen Rd. Driver states front tire blew out, causing him to swerve into the bank. car was severely damaged, but the driver was uninjured. Car was towed.

16-000925 Domestic Dispute or Assault 17:13:56 02/21/16
Sheriff Deputies responded to an address off of North Beach Road regarding a disturbance. Further investigation revealed that a male subject had struck his girlfriend in the face with a closed fist. The subject was arrested for Domestic Violence Assault 4th degree.

A Lopez Island man reported that he was the intended victim of a scam on Facebook where he was listed as a winner of a $150,000 prize. When he inquired about claiming the prize, he was asked for $1500 as a processing fee. No money changed hands. A report was taken.

16-000931 Domestic Dispute or Assault 09:27:17 02/22/16
A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic. This case is still under investigation.

16-000932 Found Property 09:33:20 02/22/16
A Lopez Island woman reported finding a bone she thought may be human at a Lopez Island beach. A deputy had the bone examined by a medical professional, who determined it was not a human bone. No further action necessary.

16-000937 Fraud 12:15:35 02/22/16
A Lopez Island man reported that he was the victim of identity theft. Someone was using his personal information to obtain credit in his name. He is unaware of any financial loss at this time, but was advised to file a police report.

An Orcas resident told me that he believes some unknown person (s) took mail out of his roadside mail box this past week. No known loss at this time. A report was taken.

16-000950 Agency Assistance 15:06:25 02/23/16
Deputy was asked to assist the Island County Jail in obtaining medical treatment for one of our jail inmates. The medical staff at the jail had asked that the inmate be released to facilitate him getting medical treatment. The inmate was released by Court order.
