A Deputy responded to a walk-in report of a Fraud. An unknown suspect used the reporting person’s name & email address, however, there appears to be no monetary loss incurred at this time. There is no suspect information or workable leads at this time. A report was made.
21-010666 Unsecure Premise 13:24:08 12/15/21
A Lopez Island Deputy was called to investigate when a property manager discovered a door standing open when checking the property. Evidence inside showed an unlawful entry had been made. A report was taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a reported non injury crash. The driver said she moved over for an approaching emergency vehicle with lights flashing and got too far over and got stuck in the muddy ditch. No damage to the vehicle was noted. Car was pulled out by good samaritans.

A Deputy responded to a report of an Unsecured Premise in Friday Harbor. There were no signs of forced entry into the premise and it appeared that one of the doors was accidentally left unsecured. The owner was contacted and the stated they would have an employee go secure the door. Report made.

A Lopez Deputy returned an at large dog to it’s owner.
21-010694 Citizen Assist 14:23:34 12/16/21
A San Juan Deputy completed a civil standby. It was discovered that several items were missing from the residence and the incident was documented.
21-010696 Accident-HitRun 16:27:46 12/16/21
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a hit and run vehicle collision. The victims did not want to pursue the matter criminally and the suspect driver was issued infractions for no insurance and driving left of center.
21-010699 DUI 17:32:14 12/16/21
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to the 2000 block of Mud Bay Rd for a non-injury vehicle accident. The driver drove a vehicle into a field and got stuck after failing to navigate a turn. It was determined the driver was impaired and they were arrested for driving under the influence.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Child Abuse incident in the Friday Harbor area. The incident was referred from an outside agency. The involved parties were contacted. Report taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island was dispatched to a call of harassment circumstances at the Eastsound Post Office. A report was filed.

An Orcas Island Deputy removed camping and personal property from the stage of the Village Green at the request of the Sheriff. The property was stored at the Orcas Island substation and a phone message was left for the owner to retrieve the property.

A Lopez resident reported damage to a mailbox that occurred when an unknown vehicle ran over it.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a man masturbating at a local business. The man left before the Deputy arrived and the Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate him. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy responded to a report of a juvenile problem in Friday Harbor. It was reported that a juvenile made some concerning statements to another juvenile. After investigation a report was made and a copy of the report was forwarded to DSHS.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud regarding a fraudulent rental listing. There are no known suspects at this time.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a protection order violation. The respondent was arrested for a violation of an order and was booked into jail.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a call regarding juveniles smoking marijuana. One juvenile was found to have marijuana. A report was taken and information was forwarded to the courts.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a trespassing call in Eastsound. The subject had left before the Deputy arrived. A report was taken.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Abandoned Vehicle in the San Juan Island area. A tow operator turned in a failure to redeem packet for an impounded vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was issued an Infraction for Littering/ Failure to Redeem an Abandoned Vehicle. Report taken.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Abandoned Vehicle in the San Juan Island area. A tow operator turned in a failure to redeem abandoned vehicle packet. The owner of the vehicle was issued an Infraction for Littering/ Failure to Redeem an Abandoned Vehicle. Report taken.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 19
21-010753 Accident-Injury, Traffic 08:08:02 12/19/21
A DeputY responded to a one car rollover accident in Friday Harbor. Upon investigation it was determined that the driver of the vehicle lost control of the vehicle after hitting a patch of “black ice” on the roadway. No injuries were incurred and a collision report was completed.

An Orcas Island Deputy contacted a resident regarding a harassment problem. An investigation was conducted and an incident report authored.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of a theft. The reporting party stated a couple packages were stolen off of their porch. No suspects or workable leads at this time.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a sex offense. Both parties were interviewed and it was found that no crime had occurred and was a verbal domestic incident.

Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a report of disorderly conduct in Eastsound; the person was gone on arrival. Deputies later got a report that the person returned, contact was made and the person was informed to not return to the location.

Orcas Island Deputies were dispatched multiple times to a local man trespassing at an Eastsound business. He was escorted off the property and criminal charges have been referred to the PA’s office.

Deputies responded to a report of a Citizen Dispute at the Post Office in Friday Harbor involving a woman threatening people in the lobby & shoving a postal employee. After investigation, one person was arrested & booked into jail for Assault 4th Degree & Harassment. Report made.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Domestic in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. One person was arrested and booked into custody. Report taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a single vehicle collision with possible injuries. The driver had apparently lost control of their motor scooter and left the roadway. The driver was transported by SJI EMS.

A Deputy responded to a report of a theft in Friday Harbor. After investigation it was determined that there was no evidence of a theft, one person was trespassed from the business, and a report completed.
