WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6
25-005212 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 10:30:39 08/06/25
Two Oregon youth were contacted at the Friday Harbor ferry landing regarding a theft from the previous day at The Pebble. Both youth were identified and trespassed from The Pebble and a report is being forwarded to the PA for charges.

25-005216 Agency Assistance 11:57:31 08/06/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a request for an agency assist. The incident was investigated and is ongoing.

25-005225 Malicious Mischief 16:45:10 08/06/25
A Lopez Deputy responded to a report of vandalism. An individual spray painted over a roadside sign. The sign owner did not want to hold the painter criminally responsible and decided to work it out without law enforcement involvement.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a report of a Citizen Dispute. The incident was documented.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 7
25-005234 Unwanted Person 00:49:05 08/07/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an unwanted person complaint. The complainant wished to have someone trespassed from their properties. The Deputy drafted trespass warning letters and sent them for service.

25-005236 Accident-NonInj 03:16:15 08/07/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to an abandoned vehicle left in the roadway. The Deputy was unable to contact the owner. The vehicle was impounded.

25-005238 Malicious Mischief 07:07:25 08/07/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of vandalism. Investigation revealed this to be a case of accidental property damage.

25-005239 Hazardous Materials Spill 08:30:36 08/07/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a Hazardous Material spill. A moderate amount of road tar had been spilled on asphalt and a grassy area. The responsible party was issued an infraction for Littering < 1 cubic foot.

25-005240 Theft 08:46:18 08/07/25
An Orcas Island man was arrested for shoplifting from the Country Corner market. He was later transported to Friday Harbor to Peace Island Hospital where he was seen by a mental health professional.

25-005243 Vicious Animal 11:26:06 08/07/25
A Lopez Deputy responded to a complaint of loose dogs on Center Road. The owner was contacted, and the dogs were recovered.

25-005255 Domestic Dispute or Assault 17:57:24 08/07/25
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a domestic on a boat. One person was arrested for assault 2 – DV and was booked into jail. While investigating, a Deputy observed the suspect drop suspected ketamine into the water and the container was recovered. Charges are pending analysis.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 8
25-005277 Fraud 09:42:33 08/08/25
A Deputy on Orcas Island was assigned a fraud case with no financial loss reported. The Deputy completed a report and sent a copy to the Federal Trade Commission, Fraud Department.

25-005295 Illegal Burning 17:59:50 08/08/25
A Lopez Deputy and Lopez Fire responded to an illegal burn call. A small brush fire started by someone experiencing mental health issues was extinguished by an employee on a neighboring farm.

25-005299 Assault – Body Force 21:10:08 08/08/25
Lopez Deputies responded to a non-aggravated assault call. Upon investigation, it was determined that no crime had been committed. A report was forwarded to child protective services for follow up.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 9
25-005320 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 16:38:10 08/09/25
A man was given a verbal warning for camping in the park adjacent to the Lopez Community Center.

25-005323 Accident-NonInj 18:51:11 08/09/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a non-injury reportable collision. A collision report was generated.

25-005326 Animal at Large 19:41:08 08/09/25
A San Juan Deputy responded to an animal at large. The found dog had a severe injury from a tight shock collar. The owner was issued a criminal citation for animal cruelty in the second degree and the dog was seized by the Sheriff’s Office, where it received veterinary care.

Fruit was stolen from a farmstand on Shark Reef Road.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of broken glass in the roadway. It was reported that this had become a almost nightly issue in the same place for a couple of weeks. A report was completed.

25-005341 Domestic Dispute or Assault 09:37:49 08/10/25
Deputies on Orcas Island responded to a domestic dispute. Both parties had, reportedly, been assaulted. The person determined to be the primary aggressor was arrested for assault in the fourth degree-domestic violence.

25-005343 Found Property 10:01:56 08/10/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a found property. A wallet was found and it is unknown where the owner is at this time. The wallet was booked into evidence as found property.

25-005359 Accident-Injury, Traffic 13:37:55 08/10/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a motorcycle collision. The driver of the motorcycle sustained injuries and was flown off island for medical attention.

25-005362 Domestic Dispute or Assault 14:58:03 08/10/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a domestic incident at the Port of Friday Harbor. The female half was taken into custody for unlawful imprisonment and assault in the 4th degree, domestic violence. A report was completed.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a vandalism. Currently there are no suspects.

A Deputy on San Juan Island hit a deer with a patrol vehicle causing damage to the car. The deer was shaken but ran off in the woods.

A Deputy on Orcas received a report of a vandalized vehicle. A report was taken.

A Deputy on Orcas was dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Olga Road. A report was taken.

Deputies on Orcas investigated a report of squatters occupying a property. No one was located.

A Deputy on San Juan Island took a report of theft. An individual received an empty package in the mail, which they stated appeared to be tampered with prior to delivery. A report was completed.

A Lopez resident requested a trespass warning letter for a person they didn’t want on their property.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a found property. An ID was found and the owner was not located. The ID was booked into evidence as found property.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a vandalism. This case is currently under investigation.

A Deputy on San Juan responded to a report of theft. When confronted by the store owner with video footage, the female adamantly denied the theft. The female also went back to the store and hid the items, acting as though she had previously dropped them. A criminal cite for theft 3 was issued.

25-005423 Mental Health 12:51:17 08/12/25
A Deputy on San Juan Island took a person into protective custody and transported them to the hospital for further care for being gravely disabled; after a designated crisis responder cleared him to leave the jail on his own. A report was completed.

A Lopez Island Deputy was dispatched to a report of found property. The property was collected and logged into the property and evidence room. The incident was documented.
