Orcas Island Deputies responded to a call of several men with guns near Guthrie Cove. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate the subjects. No crime was committed, and an incident report was authored.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a bicycle theft. There are no active leads at this time and a report was made.
21-006942 Theft 19:12:17 08/04/21
A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a theft of a bicycle. The bicycle was located with a rider and the subject was placed under arrest for theft in the third degree. The bicycle was reunited with its owner.
21-006952 Domestic Dispute or Assault 22:34:13 08/04/21
San Juan Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance. Investigation determined no crime took place. One party was provided with a courtesy transport into town and a report was filed.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 5
21-006956 DUI 09:57:55 08/05/21
A Deputy on Orcas responded to a possible DUI in Eastsound. The driver was contacted soon after the call came in. After an investigation was completed the driver was arrested for DUI.
21-006959 Agency Assistance 12:30:04 08/05/21
Orcas Island Deputies responded to a kayak adrift near Jones Island. Deputies located and recovered a paddle board on the south/west side of Jones Island. No owner was located, and the paddle board was booked into evidence for safe keeping.
21-006965 Accident-Injury, Traffic 14:07:15 08/05/21
San Juan Deputies responded to a report of a single-car rollover collision. The driver was unharmed, was found to be intoxicated, and was arrested for DUI.

A Deputy responded to a call back report of a boating incident involving a citizen dispute at the Roche Harbor County Dock. After speaking with the caller it was determined that no crime was committed and an informational report was made.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a citizen dispute. There were no witnesses and there are no workable leads at this time. The incident was documented.

A San Juan Deputy was informed of a subject at Linde Park who had conditions to not be at parks. The Deputy’s report was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office.

A Lopez Deputy responded to a call involving an airborne drone being found near the ferry terminal. The drone crashed into a tree. The drone was collected and will be stored until an owner can be located.

A Lopez Deputy was contacted regarding noise from a saw mill. The caller was directed to the county code enforcement office.

San Juan Deputy was approached by someone to report a threatening message. It did not meet the requirements for a criminal act; the incident was documented.

An Orcas Deputy arrested a local man for an outstanding warrant. The subject was transported to jail to await arraignment.

An Orcas Deputy responded to report of burglary at a local business. An investigation was conducted.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called about a dog that was caught running at large. The owner was identified and the dog returned home. No enforcement action was taken.

Orcas Island Deputies responded to a verbal altercation on the 7000 block of Orcas Rd. An investigation was conducted and no crime was committed. An incident report was authored.

An Orcas Island Deputy investigated a theft of $80.00 worth of goods from Country Corner at 837 Crescent Beach Dr. A suspect was located and arrested for the theft and the stolen goods were returned to the business.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a theft of a medical scooter. The suspect was located and provided the Deputy with the location of the scooter, stating that a free sign was on it when they located it. The Deputy’s report was sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for a charging decision.

A Deputy responded to a Domestic in the San Juan Island area. The reporting Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. After speaking with everyone, the Deputy found no crime had been committed. Report taken.

An Orcas Island Deputy authored an incident report over a letter left on the door of a business addressing COVID-19 vaccinations. No crime was committed.

San Juan Deputies responded to a report of an order violation. A crime does not appear to have been committed and the incident was documented.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Malicious Mischief in the Friday Harbor area. The person reported one of the buildings had been painted on. Photos and report were taken. No leads at this time.

An elderly citizen fell off their boat while trying to recover a crab pot in Swifts Bay. Before US Coast Guard or the Sheriff’s Office could respond, a good Samaritan boating in the area spotted the elderly citizen and rescued them. It is unknown if the elderly citizen caught any crab.

A motorist crashed into a parked and unoccupied San Juan Sheriff’s car. The collision was investigated and the driver was arrested for DUI.
21-007099 Accident-Injury, Traffic 12:20:51 08/08/21
A Deputy was dispatched to a Single Vehicle Traffic Accident. The Deputy arrived and located a moped off the roadway. The driver had lost control and was ejected. Driver taken for medical treatment. Report taken.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a suspicious incident in Eastsound. The investigation is ongoing.

A Lopez Island Deputy was called to a report of a suspicious person. The person was looking for help, and provided a ride home. A report was taken.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a Harassment complaint. An investigation commenced. It was determined no crime had been committed. The Deputy completed an informational report.

A Lopez Deputy was advised of on-going parking issues at the Hunter Bay dock. The Deputy made a post on Lopez Rocks advertising the issue. Enforcement action will follow if needed.

21-007157 Vicious Animal 10:20:11 08/10/21
A Deputy was contacted at the Sheriff’s Office in reference to an Animal Problem in the San Juan Island area. The person reported a visitor’s dog attacked another dog, injuring it. The dog is from out of county. Report taken.

A Lopez Island business reported finding a profane rant railing against masks posted on their door when they arrived to open for business. An information report was taken.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of fraud. There are no active leads and the incident was documented.

A Lopez Island Deputy responded to a suspicious circumstance call. The reporting person stated an unidentified male in a car scared her when he stopped and stared at her while she was standing alone in a remote location. A description of the individual and his car was provided. A report was completed.

San Juan Deputy took a suspicious circumstance report about a call following a pedestrian on two separate nights. No crime was reported, but the complainant wanted a paper trail.
