A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic. The investigation showed that this was a verbal argument and that no assault took place.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a theft of a credit card. The card was located, but this case is still under investigation.
16-001908 Controlled Substance Problem 15:18:25 04/06/16
Deputies followed up on a complaint of a suspicious smell in an area of Lopez Island. Deputies made contact with the resident and determined that the resident is taking the steps necessary to eliminate the smell.
16-001909 Traffic Stop 15:25:44 04/06/16
Deputy stopped a vehicle in the 3000 block of Olga Road for speeding 42 MPH in the posted 25 MPH Zone. Driver was DWLS 3, no insurance and no interlock. Driver was given a traffic infraction for speeding and no insurance. He was also given a criminal traffic citation for DWLS 3 and operating a motor vehicle without interlock.

A report of a near-sunk dinghy tied to county dock. Dispatch called number on boat for me. Owner said he’d take care of it.
16-001917 Weapons Offense 20:12:15 04/06/16
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to investigate gunshots heard on the south end of Lopez Island. The shooter was located, target shooting in a safe area and manner. The shooter had already finished before the deputy arrived. No further action was necessary.

Deputies assisted King County Sheriff’s Office Detectives with arresting a Lopez Island resident who had a King County Arrest Warrant for Rape Of A Child 1st Degree. The arrested person was transported from Lopez Island by King County Detectives to the King County Jail.

An Eastsound resident reported an old boat trailer was taken from his business, and a door was forced open. The investigation continues.
16-001929 Malicious Mischief 12:47:56 04/07/16
An Eastsound resident reported that someone had taken his mailboxes off their stand, and left them on the ground. There are no suspects at this time.
16-001936 Traffic Violation 17:57:39 04/07/16
Deputy responded to the area of Argyle Avenue and Webb Street reference a citizen dispute. I subsequently arrested the driver of the vehicle for DUI. Driver was later released with a court date.
16-001941 Citizen Dispute 21:02:05 04/07/16
Deputy responded to a verbal domestic in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office located. Upon arrival the male subject advised he was trying to break up with his girlfriend but she was threatening to kill herself. She was taken to the ER to be evaluated.
16-001945 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 22:49:21 04/07/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a suspicious circumstance
involving subjects with flashlights walking down an unoccupied residence driveway in the dark. A foot search did not turn up any evidence of trespassing.

An Eastsound resident reported that his mailbox was removed for the second day in a row and left on the ground. Investigation continues.
16-001950 Accident-HitRun 09:14:52 04/08/16
Deputy responded to Roche Harbor Road reference a Hit&Run collision. A vehicle was struck sometime during the early hours of the morning. I completed a Police Traffic Collision Report. No suspect information at this time.
16-001954 Animal at Large 14:08:43 04/08/16
A Deputy met with a Lopez Island resident regarding a found dog. The dog, which was found on private property, was returned to the owner. A report was completed.
16-001959 Wanted Person 15:15:13 04/08/16
An Eastsound man was arrested on warrant. He was processed and released on bail.
16-001961 Noise Complaint /not dogs 16:04:23 04/08/16
A Deputy responded to Channel Road, Lopez Island, for a noise complaint. The Deputy located persons who had been riding loud off-road vehicles and advised them of the noise ordinance and complaint. They all agreed to comply with the noise ordinance in the future and departed.

Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle collision in Friday Harbor. After further investigation the driver was issued an infraction for Negligent Driving in The Second Degree.

Reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Domestic. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the victim and witness. Information was taken. Investigation continues.

A Deputy was dispatched to a report of Littering in Friday Harbor. The involved party agreed to clean up the trash and the victim chose not to pursue charges of Littering.
16-001981 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 15:42:08 04/09/16
Orcas Deputies responded to a 911 call at an Eastsound business in regards to a mental health subject requesting help. The on call mental health professional was called out and responded for an evaluation. A report was made.
16-001983 Vicious Animal 16:48:33 04/09/16
A Friday Harbor resident reported a dog coming onto his residential property and attacking his dog. His dog sustained minor injury and it is unclear yet whether it will need medical treatment. The loose animal was located and detained a short time later at the Lavender Farm.

Orcas Deputies responded to a possible armed subject at an Eastsound address. Deputies discovered it was a landscaper working on the property. No crime occurred.

A Deputy was dispatched to a possible Vehicle Prowl in Friday Harbor. It was found a family member was checking on a vehicle with the permission of the registered owner. No further.
16-001999 Civil Problem 12:01:32 04/10/16
Two Orcas Island neighbors had a dispute over their property line. They were advised it was civil and to resolve the issue through their attorneys.
16-002008 Mental Health 15:10:48 04/10/16
Deputies were dispatched to a 911 call in the Orcas Ferry Landing area. When Deputies arrived in the area they were unable to determine who called. There was no signs of anyone in distress. No further actions were required.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a prowler. The Deputy checked around the business and did not locate anyone in the area. It is unknown who was walking around the business.
16-002020 Traffic Hazard 11:23:09 04/11/16
A Lopez deputy was dispatched for a large commercial vehicle stuck in the ditch. Deputy and firefighters performed traffic control until the vehicle could be extricated.
16-002030 Accident-Injury, Traffic 19:28:58 04/11/16
The reporting deputy was dispatched to a Traffic Accident in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy made contact with a driver who struck a parked vehicle. The driver was arrested for investigation of DUI. Investigation continues.

A SJC Deputy performed a traffic stop on a known suspended driver in Eastsound. The driver was arrested, processed and released at the scene with a
promise to appear in court.

I was dispatched to a call of a road hazard on Mt. Baker and Lavender lane. When I arrived I observed a white older sedan which was parked on the shoulder with its driver side in the eastbound lane of Mt. Baker. I attempted to contact the registered owner, but only got his voicemail. I left him a message

SJC Sheriff Deputies responded to a reported trespass in which an Orcas Island man had gone onto a public premises of a property that he had been previously trespassed from and caused a scene. The suspect was later located and arrested for criminal trespass and obstructing a law enforcement officer.

Deputies responded to a Lopez Island residence for a Domestic Violence Assault Complaint. An investigation was conducted and the case was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for disposition.

SJC Sheriff Deputies arrested an Orcas Island man on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer after creating a hostile scene at a local business and running from deputies. The subject was arrested shortly after the incident.
