A Deputy responded to the Sheriff’s Office to deal with an injured inmate. Medication was provided and Correction Officers were notified.
17-001795 Traffic Violation 11:10:39 04/05/17
A Lopez Island man reported a minor collision that had occurred on Fisherman Bay Rd. The second vehicle had left the scene, refusing to wait for the police. No damage was reported. The deputy was not able to find the second vehicle. An information report was taken.
17-001802 Animal at Large 19:19:41 04/05/17
A Lopez Island Deputy responded to Ritchie Road for an animal at large complaint. The owners of the loose horses was identified and he retrieved them and secured them back in his field. A report was completed.

An Orcas deputy responded to a citizen dispute in Eastsound. After further investigation the incident was settled by contact. A report was written.

A Deputy was dispatched to a report of Internet fraud in Friday Harbor. A report was taken. No further.
17-001816 Accident-HitRun 12:38:43 04/06/17
Deputies responded to a Delayed Report of a Hit & Run Accident near the Ferry Landing. Deputies were advised that the incident occurred between 3/24/17 & 4/1/17. No suspect vehicle information other than possible white vehicle. Report taken.

An Orcas Island man reported being threatened by another man in the Eastsound area. The incident was investigated and a report was written.

Deputies responded to a residence in Olga regarding a report of an Assault. Deputies spoke with both parties involved and gathered statements for a report. Deputy completed a report.
17-001832 Assault – Aggravated 13:56:08 04/07/17
A Deputy received a walk-in report at the station regarding a Delayed Assault
Report of an Eastsound resident that occurred at Deer Harbor. A statement was
obtained from the complainant and a report was taken.
17-001833 Assault – Aggravated 14:18:13 04/07/17
A deputy was dispatched to a Citizen Dispute in the San Juan Island area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. After interviewing all the parties, no enforcement action was taken. Three of the involved were given trespass warnings.
17-001837 Accident-HitRun 16:10:08 04/07/17
An Orcas deputy responded to a report of a hit & run traffic collision. An investigation and report were completed. No known suspect information at this time.
17-001869 Animal at Large 15:54:53 04/08/17
A Friday Harbor resident found two dogs in his sheep, chasing them. He tried to lure the dogs with treats, then tried to chase them away and was finally forced to shoot one of the dogs when it continued to chase his lambs and ewes. Dog owner was contacted and arrangements made.

A Deputy was notified of an accidental shooting on Decatur Island. The victim was accidentally shot himself in the finger and went to the mainland for treatment.

A deputy was dispatched to a Vehicle Prowl in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved party. The involved party advised stereo equipment had been removed from a vehicle over the previous night. Investigation continues.

An Anacortes man called the Sheriff’s Office to report that his boat had been vandalized while it was moored on Lopez Island. A report was taken.
17-001914 Child Abuse or Neglect 12:52:34 04/10/17
An Orcas Deputy responded to the Orcas Island Elementary school in regards to a possible child neglect case. A report was taken and DSHS was already notified by School staff.
17-001915 Theft 13:50:50 04/10/17
A deputy was dispatched to a Theft in the Friday Harbor area. The reporting deputy arrived and contacted the involved parties. Two subjects were arrested for Shoplifting.
17-001916 Accident-Injury, Traffic 15:25:35 04/10/17
OIFR and an Orcas Deputy responded to a single vehicle motorcycle accident in Eastsound. The rider struck the soft shoulder and lost control. The rider was flown off for medical attention. A report was taken.
17-001918 Death Investigation 16:25:21 04/10/17
A Deputy responded to a reported death on Orcas Island. The investigation is currently being conducted. It is not suspected that there was any foul play.

Deputies arrested a transient Friday Harbor resident for a warrant. This arrest occurred in the area of Carter Ave. The female subject was brought to the Sheriff’s Office and processed without incident.
