A Deputy met with a Lopez Island resident for a harassment complaint. The reporting person stated a neighbor photographed him and accused him of violating his community HOA rules. The involved parties spoke and appeared to resolve the matter. There was no evidence of a crime.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of a citizen dispute at a business in Friday Harbor. The suspect was located and was booked into jail on multiple charges.

A Deputy on San Juan Island received a report of a theft. It was reported that a picnic table was stolen from Reuben Tarte County Park. There are no suspects at this time.
21-003423 Death Investigation 11:02:54 04/28/21
A Lopez Deputy responded to a death investigation call. A pile of bones were found while a crew was digging on a construction site. The bones appeared to be very old. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy on Orcas responded to a fraud complaint at a local bank. The banks fraud department is handling it and an informational report was taken by the Sheriff’s Office.

A Lopez Deputy responded to an animal problem call. A dog that was off its leash approached a couple. The dog was unfriendly, growling and barking. The Lopez Deputy issued a formal warning to the dog owner for allowing the dog to run at large.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a theft complaint. The investigation revealed a neighbor unlawfully removed a concrete barrier from private property. The neighbor was contacted and agreed to return the barrier. A report was filed.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a walk-in report of vandalism regarding nails in a tire. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that the damage was caused intentionally and a report was made.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an overdose. The Deputy arrived on scene, administered Narcan and began CPR until EMS arrived. The patient was transported to the hospital.

An Orcas Island citizen turned in a child’s back pack that was found earlier in the day. The back pack was booked into the property room at the Orcas Substation.

San Juan Deputies took a report of a dog bite. The owners were contacted and advised of dangerous dog laws.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Citizen Assist in the Friday Harbor area. I contacted the person and discussed their issue. I then provided possible solutions. Report taken.

A Lopez Island Deputy stopped and ticketed a new driver for speeding and violation of intermediate licensing restrictions on teen passengers. A parent responded to the scene at the Deputy’s request to provide legal transportation for the unauthorized passengers.

A Lopez Island Deputy located and stopped a driver who failed to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle, a Lopez Fire and EMS medic responding to an emergency medical call. The driver was warned and educated about what is required when emergency vehicles approach with lights and sirens.
