17-002115 Boating Problem 14:01:28 04/19/17
A Lopez Island deputy was called to the Hunter Bay boat ramp regarding children kayaking that were being blown further offshore by the wind. The children were rescued by a US Coast Guard crew and returned safely to shore.
17-002119 Theft 15:35:45 04/19/17
A Deputy responded to a shoplifting theft from an Eastsound business. The suspect was located and detained at another nearby retailer. The stolen item was recovered. The suspect was issued a criminal citation for Theft 3rd degree.

Deputies responded to a domestic dispute in Friday Harbor. The incident was investigated and settled by contact. A report was written.
17-002148 Domestic Dispute or Assault 12:27:23 04/21/17
A deputy was dispatched to the San Juan Island area in reference to a Domestic. The reporting deputy arrived and discovered the incident to be verbal only. Parties separated and a report was taken.
17-002155 Custodial Interference 16:57:32 04/21/17
A Deputy responded to a report of Custodial Interference. Deputy spoke to both parties and confirmed the child was not coming for the visitation per the parenting plan. Case active at this time.
17-002157 Citizen Assist 17:09:25 04/21/17
A deputy was contacted about an Illegal Dumping which occurred in the Friday Harbor area. The caller advised a nearby multi residence was dumping material on the caller’s property. Reporting deputy contacted the property’s manager. Incident settled by contact.
17-002162 Attempted Suicide 20:22:39 04/21/17 S Brennan ACT
Friday Harbor deputies were sent to a suicide attempt. The daughter had seen her mother going out on the porch with a loaded handgun. The mother said she was going to kill herself. The daughter took the gun away and the mother was transported to the ER for evaluation.

Deputies responded to a report of a juvenile that was under the influence of intoxicating liquor. The juvenile was transported to the hospital and the case is being referred to Juvenile probation.

A Lopez Island deputy was called to investigate a broken car window. The damage was caused by a rock kicked up by a weedwhacker being used by a landscaping crew. The vehicle owner was provided contact information for the company. An information report was taken.

A deputy was dispatched to an Unattended Death in the San Juan island area. The reporting deputy arrived and conducted an investigation. Report to follow.
17-002172 Boating Problem 12:12:15 04/22/17
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to assist the Coast Guard in the search for an unoccupied kayak reportedly found off the south end of Lopez Island near Castle Island. Several vantage points and beaches were checked.

A caller contacted the Sheriff’s Office in reference to a Vehicle Prowl in the Friday Harbor area. The caller was contacted and provided a list of items taken. Investigation continues.
17-002188 Parking Problem 22:42:06 04/22/17
A Deputy contacted a person illegally camping in the Lopez Village. The subject stated he was unaware he could not sleep in his car overnight. The subject, who claimed he was homeless, stated he would make arrangements to move his car to his new employer’s property. A report was completed.
17-002189 Alcohol Offense 23:03:04 04/22/17
Deputies were dispatched to Nichols Street West to make contact with an intoxicated minor. The minor was taken into custody and released on a citation.

A Deputy responded to an Eastsound business on a reported citizen dispute. Upon arrival, one male reported that another male had threatened him. Witnesses have been sought. The suspect had left the scene prior to our arrival. An investigation was performed.

A deputy responded to the Friday Harbor Port reference a suspicious subject. Upon arrival the subject was identified and his activity was documented.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Eastsound address in regards to an unwanted person. The subject was awakened and sent on his way as per the reporting person’s request.
17-002222 Traffic Hazard 19:15:14 04/24/17
A Lopez Island deputy was sent to check on a report of a dead sea lion on the roadway. The sea lion, about 10 feet long and 500+ pounds was located in the surfline of the adjoining beach.

A Deputy was dispatched to an Overdose in Friday Harbor. The
patient was transported to the medical center for further evaluation. No
further.
17-002233 Fraud 13:17:32 04/25/17
Complainant is getting together her documents and statement form. She will be
out of town for a week and upon return she will take the time to organize her
paperwork and send us back what we need. Lotion Crafters is the victim of $350
on an order they sent to Canada. More to come.
