A Lopez Deputy responded to a fraud call. A Lopez citizen received a call from an unknown source asking for their Medicare information. The Deputy took a report and advised the citizen to not provide personal information to any source that seems questionable.

A San Juan Deputy assisted a hospitalized Friday Harbor resident by retrieving his abandoned dog from Anacortes Police and transferred it to the care of the Animal Protection Society until it could be retrieved by the owner.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of suspicious in relation to a missing dog. The dog was unable to be located but it’s collar was found. A squatter on the property denied knowing the whereabouts of the dog. The investigation is ongoing.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a report of an animal staying in a vehicle while the owners were staying in a hotel. When confronted by hotel staff, the owner became aggressive and left the hotel. They were located and issued a trespass letter for the hotel.

San Juan Deputies responded to a request to trespass unwanted subject. The involved parties were issued trespass warning letters and explained the trespass laws.

A Lopez Deputy was dispatched to a report of firearms noise from an unknown location. The area checked clear and the reporting party was advised of county firearms rules.

A Lopez Deputy was sent to check on a roving horse. The horse was gone from the described location, but had left evidence at the scene. The horse’s owner was contacted and a broken fence was repaired.

A Deputy on San Juan Island was contacted by a subject having some sort of mental health crisis wanting photographs of their face taken. Photographs were taken and entered into the case file along with a large amount of documents provided by the subject regarding a civil issue.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a theft complaint involving a missing cat. There did not appear to be any criminal intent on the part of the person currently in possession of the cat. The complainant was advised to ask that the cat be returned.

A San Juan Deputy responded to a welfare check of a reported suicidal person in Friday Harbor. The victim was contacted telephonically and refused to meet with the responding Deputy. The victim refused any additional assistance or resources.

San Juan Deputies responded to assist with a possible overdose. No interviewed parties identified the supplier. The patient was left in the care of hospital staff.
SUNDAY, APRIL 18
21-003143 Suspicious Person/Circumstance 07:17:29 04/18/21
A Lopez Deputy was called out to check the village for a suspicious behaving male looking into closed businesses. The male was located and contacted. No crime had occurred.
21-003145 Animal at Large 09:08:50 04/18/21
A Lopez Deputy responded to an animal at large call concerning a loose goat on the road. Upon the arrival of the Deputy, the goat had already safely returned to its owners’ property. The owner was given a warning and an information report was taken.
21-003157 Overdose 14:22:09 04/18/21
San Juan Deputies and medical personnel responded to an overdose call involving a 16-year old. The patient was found to have consumed recreational drugs and alcohol and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. An investigation was completed.

A Deputy on Orcas Island responded to a threats complaint. The victim did not wish to pursue charges, but did want the incident documented. A report was taken.

A Deputy on San Juan Island responded to a report of a death investigation. An investigation was completed and documented.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched to a found property call. A credit card was turned over, but the owner was unable to be located. The credit card company was contacted, and the card was deactivated. A report was taken.

A Deputy was contacted in reference to a Trespass. The property owner was contacted and requested a Trespass Warning Letter. The other involved person was contacted and served with the Trespass Letter. Report taken.

An Orcas Island Deputy was dispatched with Orcas Island Fire & Rescue to a possible Overdose call in the Eastsound area. The individual was flown off the island for further evaluation.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Welfare Check in the Friday Harbor area. The Deputy arrived and contacted the people involved. One person was transported to the hospital for an evaluation. Report taken.
