Deputy responded to the Sheriff’s Office located in Friday Harbor reference an unruly prisoner. Upon arrival the prisoner was causing bodily harm to himself and yelling threats to kill the Judge. A mental health professional was contacted to assess the prisoner.

A representative of the US National Parks brought in 6 items for safekeeping. The items will be held until a later date, when they will be released for transfer to another Park. I documented receipt of 2 shotguns, an air rifle, a carbine and 2 tasers. All items were secured in the weapons area

Deputies were flagged down by an Eastsound resident who stated he had been a victim of an assault. Deputies conducted a preliminary investigation and will be submitting a report. No further action required.

A deputy responded to a two vehicle traffic collision in Eastsound. Upon arrival and further investigation, one of the driver’s was arrested for DUI.

A deputy was dispatched to a non-injury collision in Friday Harbor. No report was needed since it the vehicle had received minimal damage. No further.

16-002078 Unsecure Premise 06:41:46 04/14/16
A deputy was dispatched to an open door at a business in Friday Harbor. Owner was contacted and no forced entry was found or items missing. No further.

16-002079 Accident-NonInj 08:45:11 04/14/16
A Deputy was dispatched to a collision that occurred the night before. It was non-injury and no infractions were issued. No Further.

16-002082 Fraud 13:02:25 04/14/16
A Lopez Island resident reported an attempted fraud complaint on 04/14/16. The unidentified suspect was believed to reside overseas. Her bank recognized the attempted transaction from the England-based company to be suspicious and rightly denied it. The bank card was cancelled. A report was completed

A Lopez deputy took a report of a paddleboard and paddle appearing at a property. It was discovered to be part of an easement dispute and determined to be civil in nature.

An Eastsound resident was arrested on a DUI warrant, and transportedAto Friday Harbor.

Lopez deputies were dispatched to a citizen dispute at an apartment complex. The dispute was over garden access and a charging decision was referred to the prosecutor’s office.

A Lopez deputy took a report for a theft of a bicycle. No suspect information and the investigation continues.

16-002092 Accident-NonInj 18:56:28 04/14/16
Deputies were dispatched to Egg Lake for a car in the marsh on the south end. Driver was contacted and found to be DUI. The car was removed before it could damage the marsh and impounded. Driver was processed, cited and released.

16-002094 Welfare Check 20:43:15 04/14/16
Family members called the SO for a welfare check on a relative in Friday Harbor. The party was located and was fine, he just stated he did not wish to speak to those ‘particular persons’ at this time.

A Sedro-Woolley man was located on Orcas Island and found to have an arrest warrant from Oak Harbor. He was arrested on the warrant and transported by a deputy to Oak Harbor .

Deputy stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of Spring Street for using a cell phone while driving. Driver was issued an infraction.

16-002111 Traffic Violation 16:49:18 04/15/16
Deputies responded to the parking lot of the Friday Harbor Post Office reference a report of male drinking alcoholic beverages in his vehicle at that location. Driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.

SJC Deputies responded to a report of a Domestic Violence Assault in Eastsound. Deputies took statements from the victim and witnesses. Deputies located and arrested the male suspect at his residence. The suspect was booked and transported to Friday harbor via patrol boat.

The US Coast Guard contacted a vessel in the San Juan Island area. The operator of the vessel was found to be under the influence of alcohol. US Coast Guard turned the operator over to the reporting deputy for processing.

On 4-15-16 at 2240 hours a Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a civil problem, where a window was broken. At this point there is no evidence to support that the window was broken out of malicious intent.

A Lopez Island man reported an intoxicated man going door to door, requesting information about nearby homes. A deputy located the man on private property nearby. The man was warned trespassing and sent on his way with his sober friends. A report was taken.

16-002136 Vehicle Theft 13:17:30 04/16/16
April 16, a Lopez Island woman provided information to deputies about a possible stolen vehicle that may be on Lopez Island. The vehicle had allegedly been stolen in Central Washington, but no stolen vehicle report had been filed. An information report was taken.

6-002144 Traffic Stop 19:35:35 04/16/16
A Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding 65 MPH in the posted 45 MPH Zone in the 2200 block of Bailer Hill. Driver was issued a speeding infraction.

16-002147 Traffic Stop 21:37:03 04/16/16
Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding 62 MPH in the posted 45 MPH zone in the 1000 Block of Bailer Hill Road. Driver was issued a Speeding Infraction.

16-002149 Domestic Dispute or Assault 22:24:39 04/16/16
Lopez deputies were dispatched to a possible domestic disturbance. No crime was found to be committed, however a 33 year old Lopez resident was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant out of Skagit County.

Lopez Island deputies responded to a reported bar fight. The parties involved had left the establishment prior to deputies arriving. Witnesses report the fight occurred within a group of off-island construction workers. No one was injured in the incident. A report was taken.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor on a driver for speed. The driver was issued an infraction for speed.

16-002153 Accident-HitRun 10:25:48 04/17/16
A vehicle veered off the road and damaged a lumber rack at Island Hardware on Orcas Island, and left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor on a driver for speed. The driver was issued an infraction for speed.

A Deputy initiated a traffic stop in Friday Harbor on a driver failing to stop at a stop sign. Driver was issued an infraction for stop sign fail to obey and no proof of liability insurance.

A Lopez Island man reported the theft of his vehicle. Deputies searched the island and have not yet located it.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a boat accident. It had been reported that a boat ran into a dock, causing damage to the vessel and dock. This case is still under investigation.

A Lopez Island man reported receiving a number of harassing messages after telling the sender to stop. A deputy contacted the suspect, directing him to cease and desist or face criminal prosecution. A report was taken.

16-002180 Traffic Stop 18:07:03 04/18/16
Deputies identified an Eastsound resident who was operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Deputies conducted an enforcement stop, contacted the driver and cited and released the resident for the suspended driver’s license. No further action was required.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of an identity theft. The victim reported that her credit card was used several times without permission. This case is still under investigation.

A Deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a trespass. The suspect was cited and released for trespass second degree.

16-002190 Domestic Dispute or Assault 13:51:45 04/19/16
Deputies responded a report of domestic violence at an Eastsound residence. After further investigation a male subject was arrested for Assault and booking into jail.

16-002191 Found Property 14:13:12 04/19/16
A Lopez Island woman called deputies to return several sets of binoculars she had found on the south end of Lopez Island. The binoculars were returned to the school where they had been lost during a class trip to the area. No further action necessary.

16-002193 Found Property 15:50:05 04/19/16
Deputies were contacted by an Eastsound resident who located an item lying in the roadway of Eastsound, and wanted to turn it in. Deputies were unable to determine the ownership of the item which was placed in safekeeping at the Orcas station. No further action required.

16-002196 Missing Person 16:57:28 04/19/16
A Lopez Island woman reported her husband overdue when he had not returned as planned from setting shrimp pots off Lopez Island. Shortly after calling deputies, the man safely returned to the marina. His boat’s engine failed and he rowed back in to shore. No further action taken.

16-002200 Domestic Dispute or Assault 21:21:04 04/19/16
The reporting deputy was dispatched to the Friday Harbor area in reference to a Domestic. The caller had already left the residence. The other involved party was contacted. The other party agreed to leave the residence after it was determined that the incident was verbal only.

16-002201 Traffic Stop 21:57:27 04/19/16
A SJC Deputy stopped a driver who was known to have a suspended drivers license in Eastsound. The driver was cited and released and his vehicle was impounded.
