Orcas Island has experienced a number of burglaries, recently to local businesses. The following businesses were burglarized:
- Orcas Island Artworks
- The Matia Restaurant
- The Clever Cow Creamery
- Tide Poll Coffee
- Sequel
- Rosario Resort
The suspect(s) are committing the crimes between the hours of 12:00am and 5:00am. They are using pry bar tools to gain access to the inside of the businesses, going through doors or windows, and taking cash and electronics.
Investigating deputies have recovered fingerprints from various businesses which will be analyzed by the WSP crime lab.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help. If you have video systems in your businesses, we are asking for any information of people out and about, moving around between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. on the mornings of April 4 and 0n April 21.
