This week, Orcas Islanders will commemorate the lives of two residents whom we lost earlier this summer.
A Memorial Service for John Baker, who died Aug. 12, will be held next Thursday, Aug. 20th at 4:30 p.m. at the Orcas Center. Immediately following will be a potluck dinner/ party in the Madrona Room celebrating John’s life. Everyone is invited.
Memorial Services for Dick Boberg will be held Saturday, Aug. 22 at Woodlawn Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Dick’s life will be held at the American Legion Eastsound Post immediately following.
The American Legion will provide condiments, paper goods, etc. The Lions are providing tents for serving outside. They have also arranged to have the parking across the road from the Legion Post.
Guests are asked to provide food by categories, using the first initial of the last name as follows:
