Orcas Island High School senior Ella Conrad announces “Sirens of Orcas,” a fun, charitable formal/prom dress fashion event for our island community. The event, Conrad’s senior project, will take place on Sunday, 30 April 2017 at 3:00pm, at Orcas Fire and Rescue in Eastsound, featuring a fun and lively take on trends in dresses.

The fashion show will showcase recent design trends for prom on Orcas Island. In addition, the event will highlight our student volunteer runway models.

“The show features a collection that represents both the generosity and style of our community,” said show producer, Ella Conrad. “All dresses for the show have been donated by community members. After the show, dresses will be available for free with a charitable donation, or through one of our local boutiques.” Conrad adds, “prom dress affordability is an issue for students. The show is a fun way to eliminate the affordability factor for prom.”

The event is free, with charitable donations encouraged. All money collected will be directed towards the OIHS Class of 2017 charitable grant managed by OICF. Each year, the senior class announces the local non-profit recipient of this grant at OICF’s Grant Ceremony in late May.
