Newly appointed Senator Lovelett is coming to Moran State Park to meet our community. She will talk about the importance of Moran State Park and our state parks in general.
Come and meet our new Senator and bring your questions.

Perhaps she will work to restore the budget to the State parks and eliminate the annoying Discover Pass fees charged visitors. (I don’t mind the fees; it’s remembering to warn guests and finding the pass and putting it out that annoys me.) Oh, and the fact that the state’s budget is now more than $54 BILLION. If I recall correctly, several years the parks had $100 million eliminated from their budget while all sorts of other new pet projects were funded. The parks are considered the single most popular and successful program the state runs, so of course they get defunded–like kids and seniors, a great punching bag at budget negotiation time.
Peg Manning is absolutely right. And we should all go to the meeting Sunday to tell this to Sen. Lovelett!
