The Orcas Island School District (OISD) Board of Directors met today with State Representative Kris Lytton. They are pictured here sitting in the cafeteria, from left Scott Lancaster, Jim Sullivan (partially hidden), Chris Sutton, Janet Brownell, Superintendent Barbara Kline, Representative Lytton, OISD Chair Tony Ghazel and District Business Manager Keith Whitaker.
After lunching in the school cafeteria, Lytton toured the school before sitting down to discuss the school with the Board and Superintendent Barbara Kline.
Tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. the OISD board will meet with the Budget Advisory Committee to refined the Education Plan, which calls for a reduction of 16 FTE teachers. The district must notify teachers by May 15 of contracts for the 2012-13 academic year. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at the school library.
