Britain’s National Theatre’s production of “Last of the Hausmanns” can be seen live-streamed at Orcas Center this Sunday

The National Theatre’s smash hit new production of Stephen Beresford’s new play The Last of the Haussmans will be streamed to Orcas Center this Sunday, October 21, at 1 p.m.

This HD broadcast is the final performance of the production’s sold-out run at the National Theatre in London. This is your chance to experience this savage, funny play and its acclaimed performers.

All-day drinking, infatuations, resentments and free love collide in this blackly funny family drama. This is a portrait of a family for whom the 60s has been a curse.

Stage and screen legend Julie Walters (Harry Potter, Educating Rita) plays Judy Haussman, with Rory Kinnear (Hamlet) and Helen McCrory as her wayward children Nick and Libby, in this production directed by Olivier Award-winner Howard Davies (The Cherry Orchard).

“It is a knockout – entertaining, sad and outrageous.”  The Guardian

“Helen McCrory, who exudes tough and defensive sex appeal, and Rory Kinnear, who turns trembling vulnerability into a form of attack, are terrific.” New York Times

“At the heart of the Haussmans is Julie Walters‘s show-stopping Judy, the original groovy matriarch: conspiratorial, disinhibited, and garrulous.”  The Guardian

Tickets for The Last of the Haussmans  are $18 for adults, $13 for students ($2 off for Orcas Center Members) and may be purchased at www.orcascenter.org or by calling 376-2281 ext. 1 or visiting the Orcas Center Box Office open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from noon – 4 pm.
