RMoody-Standing-Banjo[1]Juno Award winning singer-songwriter and founding member of the internationally renowned, Billboard-charting trio, The Wailin’ Jennys, Ruth Moody has performed in sold-out venues around the world, made numerous critically-acclaimed albums, received five Juno awards nominations, and has appeared more than a dozen times on A Prairie Home Companion. She’ll be performing with her band at Orcas Center on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 pm.

Written with a maturity and wisdom that belies her age, her songs are timeless, universal, and carefully crafted, all sung with an intimacy and honesty that is unmistakably her own. These Wilder Things, Ruth’s recently released album, features guest appearances by Mark Knopfler, Jerry Douglas, Aoife O’Donovan, Mike McGoldrick, John McCusker, and The Wailin’ Jennys.

Meet Ruth Moody and her band at a special Harmony singingworkshop at Orcas Center at 5-6 pm before the show on Thursday, November 13 (free with a ticket to the evening concert).
