The Orcas Community Resource Center is proud to participate in the OICF GiveOrcas campaign, running now through May 15th, with a special focus on sustaining their vital Community Health Worker services for island residents.
Community Health Workers serve as essential bridges between healthcare systems and our community members, particularly those facing barriers to accessing care. They provide professional personalized support to help islanders maintain their health and well-being.
“Our Community Health Workers partner with islanders, helping them navigate complex systems to access critical health services,” said Erin O’Dell, Executive Director of the Resource Center. “With bilingual, culturally responsive support, they ease the burden of paperwork, appointments, and uncertainty-ensuring no one faces the healthcare system alone.”
The funds raised during this campaign will allow the Resource Center to continue providing these essential services to our community members, ensuring this valuable program remains available to those who rely on it.
Special Game Days Offer Bonus Funding!
Donors can maximize their impact by participating in special game days during the campaign:
- Unique Donor Day (Thursday, May 8th): Every individual donation, $10 and up, helps the Resource Center with an opportunity for bonus funding.
- Funday Monday (Monday, May 12th): Special hat draw for all donors who give throughout the weekend (May10th-11th).
- Ben Franklin Day (Tuesday, May 13th): Named after one of America’s founding philanthropists, this day features a special bonus to the organization with the most $100 donations.
“Every contribution makes a difference, whether it’s $10 or $500,” added Patricia Benton, Resource Center Board Chair. “These special game days are a fun way for our community to come together and multiply the impact of their generosity.”
