Mads Hall
Recovery in Community is happy to announce that Mads Hall, Recovery in Community’s Operations Director, has been selected to receive funds from the Orcas Island Community Foundation’s Leadership, Excellence, Advancement, and Development (LEAD) Grant Program to finish their last quarter of University of Washington’s Nonprofit Management Certificate program.
Mads got their start in nonprofits at the William Way LGBT Community Center of Philadelphia as the Senior Programs intern. They then continued their interest in public service by interning with San Juan County Health and Community Services, and then the Orcas Island Food Bank as an Americorps service member.
Mads has been working with Recovery in Community for a year now, and has helped revitalize the organization and supported RIC during the process of becoming a 501c3. Recovery in Community, previously known as Recovery Rides, has four main programs:
-
Recovery Rides: No barrier transportation to and from inpatient substance use disorder treatment on the mainland, available to all San Juan County residents.
-
Transitional Housing Support: Temporary rental support for clients who have successfully completed inpatient treatment in sober living environments.
-
Recovery Advocacy: Peer based recovery support after treatment.
-
Prevention and Education: Partnering with other local organizations to provide naloxone and prevention strategies and educate about harm reduction.
Recovery in Community is seeking volunteers! If you are interested, please contact rrcoordinator@ricorcas.com for more information.
Recovery in Community is not an emergency responder. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call 911 or text or call the Suicide Crisis Line at 988.
