Newest numbers. The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 645,596 confirmed cases as of 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 1. There have been 8,696 COVID-19 deaths in Washington.

New insight into COVID-19 outbreaks at Washington state schools. DOH released the latest report on COVID-19 outbreaks in K-12 schools across the state, which covers the start of the 2021/2022 school year. It includes data on both public and private schools that experienced a COVID-19 outbreak between Aug. 1 and Sept. 30, 2021. During that time period, 189 COVID-19 outbreaks and 1,284 COVID-19 cases in K-12 schools were reported to DOH. Read the full news release and read the full Oct. 29 report.

Inslee extends proclamation on COVID-19 nursing home transfers. Gov. Jay Inslee announced a 30-day extension of the proclamation that suspends and waives certain statutes to allow nursing homes to transfer or discharge residents to other long-term care facilities. Read the full news release.
