Newest numbers. The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 300,018 confirmed cases as of 11:59 p.m. on February 1. There have been 4,316 COVID-19 deaths in Washington.

COVID-19 data shows some encouraging signs as well as reasons for caution. The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) released the latest statewide situation report on COVID-19 on Jan. 29. Among other findings, DOH reported that declining COVID-19 transmission provides an opportunity to get case and hospitalization rates under control before the faster-spreading B.1.1.7 variant takes hold in the state. Inslee issues proclamation related to COVID-19 and foster care age limits. Governor Jay Inslee issued a proclamation to ensure, as required by federal law, that people receiving extended foster care services don’t “age out” at 21 years old during the COVID-19 pandemic.
