Today and tomorrow, April 29 and 30, children who will be five years old by Sept. 1, 2009, and their parents can visit the Orcas School library and and meet teachers who will visit with them at various stations and lead them through various exercises at tables for gross motor development, hearing, vision, speech and language development, concept skills and music.
The purpose of the screening appointments are to make sure all children are growing strong and ready to learn. The appointments take about 45 minutes.
Parents should bring the child’s birth certificate and immunization records. Children can be enrolled in kindergarten at this time.
Those interested in the screening can call Roann at the elementary school, 376-2286, to schedule a time on April 30 for screening.
