||| FROM SAN JUAN COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS |||
San Juan County Public Works is beginning spring road maintenance in preparation for summer chip seal operations on San Juan Island. This preparation includes cleaning debris and vegetation from road shoulders.
A technique called “pulling the shoulders,” work crews will pull back any overgrown grass and vegetation from road shoulders. Flaggers and a pilot truck will direct traffic safely through the work zones. As with all Public Works projects, we ask for the public’s patience and reduced speeds to help maintain a safe work zone.
Crews will be working on the following routes on San Juan Island in late March/early April:
- Cattle Point Road between the town limits out to Little Road
- Beaverton Valley Road from the town limits out to School House Road
- West Side Road from mile post 10 to mile post 11
