Indian Island in East Sound, owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)

From the  San Juan Preservation Trust

With continued support for the recent designation of federally-owned lands as the San Juan Islands National Monument, we are writing to let [the public]  know about a series of public meetings hosted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The BLM State Director and District Manager will be present to lead an open discussion, answer questions and welcome the interim Monument Manager.

These meetings will provide our island community with a great opportunity to learn more about the National Monument and to ensure our voice is heard.

Meetings will be held as follows:

  • Thursday, Sept 26, 6-8 pm
    • Orcas Island Senior Center
  • Friday, Sept 27, 10 am-noon
    • San Juan Island — Friday Harbor Grange
  • Friday, Sept 27, 6-8 pm
    • Lopez Island — Woodmen Hall
