The upcoming PTSA meeting scheduled Thursday, April 12th, will feature kids from Orcas High School’s Point Blank school leadership group. Point Blank is a chapter of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions), is dedicated to fostering prevention, and is advised by Orcas’ Point Blank advisor/Readiness to Learn specialist Julie Pinardi.

This is your chance to ask questions of the some brave kids about the peer pressures they face at school and elsewhere on Orcas Island, as it relates to underage drinking, with a focus on what parents can do to help their kids negotiate and overcome these pressures.

Please submit your question(s) in advance, ASAP, so the kids have time to formulate thoughtful responses. Please also respect the kids’ privacy by stressing positive approaches to overcoming pressures, parenting strategies, etc. in your questions.

Questions will be read aloud (no names) at the Town Hall and aswered by the kids. Questions can be sent directly to Julie Pinardi at jpinardi@orcas.k12.wa.us, or to PTSA President, Holly King, at holly@trevoci.com.
