Progress Update: Prune Alley is ready to be paved on schedule this Monday morning (July 18)! This a major milestone in the projects schedule and we are grateful for everyone’s hard work and continued patience. If you find yourself in the vicinity of Prune Alley watching paving operations next week, please do so from a safe distance (outside the designed work zone) as there will be a lot of construction activity in the area. It is essential that paving operations run safely and smoothly. Paving operations are scheduled to conclude on Thursday (July 21).
Big Picture: In preparation of asphalt paving, concrete approaches were constructed at four intersections: Fern St, A St, Rose St, and School Rd. Once asphalt paving is completed the remaining structural, architectural, and aesthetic details (including brick pavers) at these intersections can be scheduled. As always, the construction team will continually evaluate and open areas of the work site as soon as it is safe to do so.
Traffic Update: The northerly intersection at School Rd will need to remain closed to traffic throughout the weekend so that recently placed concrete has time to harden. Asphalt paving operations are scheduled to enter the project site through this intersection on Monday and the recently placed concrete will need to be able to support the loads from asphalt paving equipment and trucks. Upon completion of paving operations, every effort will be made to temporally open up this intersection to traffic next Friday (July 22).
Please help keep our residents and visitors safe and injury free by adhering to and protecting all approved traffic control devices.
