||| FROM ERIN WYGANT for SAN JUAN PUBLIC WORKS |||
Progress Update: We have been working above ground for over a month now which means progress is readily visible throughout the project site. Concrete sidewalks, parking, and brick pavers was the focus this week and will continue into next week. Remember, just five weeks left until substantial completion (when the project is largely open and accessible to the public).
Big Picture: As the project site continues to open up, you may notice the concentrated effort to building an accessible and walkable street. Wherever possible, the elevation and grade of pedestrian routes and pedestrian crossings was maintained through driveways and intersections. When vehicles have to “ramp up” and cross over bricks at driveways and intersections, drivers are reminded to always yield to pedestrians.
Traffic Update: Although the North Beach Road intersection is closed again this weekend, we expect to permanently re-open it by the end of next week!
Local Businesses: You are encouraged to place mobile wayfinding sings along pedestrian access routes to help direct traffic around work zones. You may also want to consider how the completed project will change your exposure facing Prune Alley (and other side streets). Please reach out if you have any questions about elevation changes or other transitional frontage improvements.
Please help keep our residents and visitors safe and injury free by adhering to and protecting all approved traffic control devices.

I love your typo, hard workers: “sings”.
Opening the north end of North Beach Rd will make all the difference!! Thank you……..
Yay. Just like Disneyland. Just what we needed.
Great to see the intersection at Prune Alley and N Beach Rd nearing completion in the photo. The sooner you can open it up, the better, for that will relieve a lot of the traffic pressure on Main Street.
Thanks for the hard work, it looks great. Especially the pavers! That was a big job, and that crew worked hard cutting and laying those bricks.
It looks fancy to some.. I like the overall presence.. Function and form.
Nice Work to All!!
