Island fruit that might go to waste can be donated to “Project Preserve” to benefit “Helping Hands Noramise,” the project founded by Rosedanie Cadet in November 2009 to bring hope to as many Haitians  as possible.  The project is centered in Limbe, Haiti, Rosedanie’s family town, and is named for Rosedanie’s grandmother.

“Project Preserve” is the inspiration of Gwen Stamm. On her own initiative, Gwen preserved and canned fruit last year, which she sold at the Artisan’s Faire in December and donated the funds to Helping Hands Noramise.  She has reserved a spot at this year’s Artisan’s Faire at the Odd Fellows Hall and also at the Holiday Bazaar at the Senior Center.

Now Gwen is about to begin preserving/canning and needs fruit which she is willing to pick.

Robin Woodward of HHN says, “As we embark upon a second season of making preserves to sell in support of Helping Hands Noramise, If you have any fruit (peaches, raspberries, red plums, crabapples, or figs) that we might glean for this use, please contact:  Gwen Stamm:  gstamm@seanet.com.”

“Her contribution is quite wonderful.”
