— from Diane Baxter —

Preparations are underway for our “Freedom is Not Free” Memorial Exhibit which will be open to the community at the American Legion on Monday, May 30. The community is invited to share photos, uniforms and mementos of loved ones who served in the military past and present. Some of you may have been given items from friends we’d be more than happy to display in the exhibit. Stories will be shared from “Boots on the Ground” (Army), “From the Ground Up” (Air Force), to the “High Seas” (Navy), and more during this special exhibit.

It is our desire to respectfully honor and thank those who have served our country, many of whom gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Please join us at the American Legion on Memorial Day between noon and 4:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The Legion is located at 793 Crescent Beach Drive, Eastsound. For further information, call 376-5413.
