Why is this happening before the town hall meeting where the public would want to know more details about the proposed plan before any decisions are made ?
Are the documents proposed to be addressed at this meeting available tot he public? The Port wouldn’t be applying for an FAA grant that would make it possible to claim that it is “forced” to adopt the aggressive Master Plan, would it? And it’s statement regarding eminent domain wouldn’t be related to the County’s position protecting mt. Baker Road and the marina, would it? Were these topics discussed before in public meetings?
Peg, a citizen/advisory board member asked if it could be codified that the Port wouldn’t use eminent domain for properties they wanted to acquire (July 26 meeting and a subsequent Port public meeting), and this was Tony’s idea to make a statement of intent for future Port commissions, as a guideline.
This meeting was open to for the Public to observe but not to make Public comment. There were 5 public members there, including 2 reporters.
