Two great Orcas Rec programs are scheduled to run again this month.

A new Winter Indoor Soccer program will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Middle School gym. Adults and  kids 9 and over are welcome to join. Lead Coach will be Mark O’Neill.

Orcas Rec Coordinator Linda Sheridan says, “This is a new and fun way to experience your favorite sport during rainy weather! The focus of this group will be to get as much game time as possible, to learn the basic rules of indoor soccer, and to apply good sportsmanship each time we are on the field.”

Boys and Girls Grades 6 and Up (must be 12 yrs or older) are invited to join the Babysitting Program on Sunday, March 14th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Eastsound Fire Hall.

Participants must pre-register, and the cost is $25. Instructor Margie Sabine says, “In this class we focus on basic childcare and safety, emergency action skills, safe play, babysitter responsibilities, and job recruitment. Each participant will receive a babysitting certificate and be placed on a community babysitters list on the Orcas Rec website if they choose. This class is limited to 18 participants so sign up soon!”

The community babysitters list is available at www.orcasrec.org .

To register for either program, stop by the Orcas Rec office at the Senior Center and pick up the correct forms. Call 376-5339 if you have questions.
