We are excited to have our 2023 Paws Across Orcas Salty Dog Treasure Hunt just around the corner. We hope that you are able to help us let our community know about this fun family event. Every August the Orcas Animal Shelter hides treasure boxes across Orcas, encouraging our community to get out there and explore our beautiful island and support the many programs and services the shelter offers to the pets and people in our community. By purchasing a treasure hunt booklets, participants are able to follow the clues provided to find the hidden treasure. Treasure hunt booklets are available for $20 at the shelter (84a Hope Lane) between 2pm and 5pm daily. You will also be able find us at tables set up around town. Check our website at www.orcaspets.org to learn where we will be each day.
During the Salty Dog fundraiser, we are also selling raffle tickets for $5 each with a limit of 2000 tickets being sold. Shiver Me Timbers, that’s pretty good odds! The raffle drawing will be held after a screening of The Goonies at the Seaview Theater on Sunday, September 3rd, at 2:30pm. Show up early to grab a bite from the food vendors in the parking lot. You need not be present to win. Raffle tickets may be purchased anywhere treasure hunt booklets are sold.
