The Orcas Island Artworks features visionary paintings in oil on canvas by Larkin Chollar through the month of July.
A professional sculptor for forty years, Larkin began painting six years ago. “I work in a totally intuitive way, just bringing out what I see in the painting. I see elements of impressionism, surrealism, realism, and transcendental themes all blending together with the dominant feature being the human face. I am trying to create a resonance of hope and expansion that the viewer feels within themselves as they view the work.”
Larkin has an open studio in Deer Harbor, where he teaches classes in sculpture and painting.
The Artworks is open daily from 10 to 6.
