Outlook Inn, managed and operated by Columbia Hospitality, has announced the appointment of Katie Sellers to General Manager. Sellers will oversee all management and operations for the hotel and restaurant, situated in the heart of Orcas Island in Eastsound, overlooking Fishing Bay. Outlook Inn features 32 spacious rooms and suites, tide-to-table fare at New Leaf Cafe led by Chef Andrew Martin and serene indoor and outdoor event spaces. Sellers will continue to evolve the Outlook Inn’s offerings on the island and ensure the Outlook Inn continues to service visitors from all around the world, as well as locals throughout the Orcas and surrounding island communities.
She has lived on Orcas Island for over 13 years, previously working as food and beverage manager at Outlook Inn and New Leaf Cafe, where she was responsible for planning and overseeing execution of the property’s impressive culinary program. She brings a deep understanding of Outlook Inn’s operations, standards, and hospitality to her new position as well as a respected reputation among staff and the local community. She will continue to partner with the local community and ensure the Outlook Inn is a responsible steward of the treasured land on and surrounding Orcas.
Born and raised in Washington, Sellers graduated from The Evergreen State College in 2003, where she studied Art History and Fine Art. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business administration at Washington State University. When not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, reading, traveling, and a range of creative activities including painting, weaving, and dying fiber.
