Tree lighting festivities this Friday on the Village Green from 4-7pm.

We’ll have a tent set up to keep folks comfortable since the weather looks a bit iffy and feature a Little Elf Workshop for the kids, including build-your-own snow globes. Santa will make an appearance on the Green and then be set up on the porch of Turtleback Kids for photos and Christmas wishes.

We’ll have a beer/wine tent with offerings from Doe Bay Wine Co., Island Hoppin’ Brewery, Orcas Wine Co., Girl Meets Dirt, and Boathouse Ciderworks for adults (including gluten-free apple cider donuts from Boathouse) and hot cider and hot cocoa and cookies from Sweetpeas Cookie Co for the kids, plus food from Delmy’s and Gertie’s,.

Plus, we’ll announce the winner of our $1,000 Island Market gift card raffle from Small Business Saturday and have some other sur-prizes too.

The Community Band will play from 4-5pm, we’ll light the tree between 5-5:30pm, and then we’ll have Christmas music until things wrap up around 7.

The activities and prizes are sponsored by the Chamber, Island Market, Eastsound Sporting Goods, Turtleback Kids, and Children’s House.

We’re accepting donations to help cover the costs of the tents the night of the event or they can be made in advance online here: https://oicf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1061
