In April OrcasHub was announced on TheOrcasonian. Today I would like to provide a quick update about what’s been going on since then.
In case you missed it, OrcasHub is a website for the community where members can post about items they have for sale or for free. It also has a housing section, a lending section, and an events calendar. The site is completely free to use, and supported by donations.
OrcasHub now has over 500 members! There are new items listed for sale or for free daily, with over 300 items listed since launch. It’s been incredibly exciting to watch the community grow and to hear all the feedback from members that have found the site helpful.
Since the launch announcement, several new features have been added:
- Sellers’ email addresses are now “anonymized”, so your personal email is not publicly visible on posts.
- A new Events Calendar section has been added for publicizing what’s happening around the island.
- Lots of little bug fixes and improvements thanks to reports from members!
